Welcome to NinjaFit! Make an Intro Post 👋
What's up! Welcome to NinjaFit 🥷 - I'm so excited to have you on this journey with us to become powerful, mobile and shredded ninjas! Please take the first step with us and make a POST in the "Introduction" category (no longer doing comments on this post!) with a quick intro of yourself that includes: 1. Your name 🙋‍♂️ 2. Where you are from 🌍 3. Whats your current fitness goals? And if you have none right now, then what got your interest with this community? 💪 4. (Optional) What’s your fitness/martial arts background? 🥋 5. A fun non fitness related fact about yourself 😁 Please try to comment and engage with the 2 other users in this post so we can all get to know each other! I'll start it off - I'm Raj from Virginia, near DC and I've trained nearly 10 years in martial arts. Starting off with 4-5 years of wrestling and BJJ, then another 4-5 years of a mix of Tae Kwon Do, Boxing and Muay Thai. Aside from all this, I love writing and have written short stories since I was 12, even a full sized novel when I was 22 (it's not very good but it was a fun experience)

Try This Home Strength & Power Workout For Kickboxers
This is a 30 min 3 round circuit workout that trains punch and kicking power for both shoulders and hips. This workout has helped me a ton for adding pop to my punches and kicks. Try it and tell me what you think!

Any Gamers here?
I've been a long time gamer here, from playing RPGs, Shooters, Fight-style Video games. Alot of this community was based on my love for fight-style games like Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter! How about you guys? Any gamers here? If so, what sort of games do you like to play?
Stretching alone will not improve your kicks! What To Do Instead..
Whats up guys, I recently had a guy come up to me and asked for advice on how to have be able to kick like me, with high kicks that landed fast but still had control. He said he had been static stretching nearly 7x A DAY for nearly a year and still can't kick that well 🤷🏽‍♂️ Here was what I shared: - Reduce the static stretching to 2x a week! ❌ Static stretches helps improve range of movement but ultimately do not help that much to improve your kick control, strength, power, etc. - Train your hip strength more 🏋️‍♀️ Adductor/Abductor work via machines, resistance bands, weights, etc. That is where you can actually have the control of your kicks and the ability to hold your legs high. - When lifting weights for legs, do fast and powerful concentric movements - i.e for squatting push the weight up fast, for RDLs straighten up with the weight fast- this builds power in your lower body 🦿 - Kick Kick KICK! Kick the bag, kick pads, heck even shadowkick if thats all you got as much as possible to build your kick technique and power better and push yourself to throw higher kicks as you go. It will be uncomfortable at first but eventually your body will acclimate. 🥊
