Saint Teresa Day 1!
THIS IS THE WAY FIVE DAYS WITH SAINT TERESA OF ÁVILA DAY ONE: THE KINGDOM IS WITHIN What if the greatest journey you will ever take is not outward, but inward? Over 400 years ago, a Christian mystic named Saint Teresa of Ávila discovered something that radically transformed her relationship with God. She began experiencing extraordinary depths of prayer, encounters with Christ, divine love, and spiritual union. In 1577, she wrote a masterpiece called The Interior Castle. She described the human soul as a beautiful castle made of diamond or crystal, containing seven mansions, with the deepest communion with God found at its center. And here’s where it gets powerful. Most people spend their entire lives searching outside themselves for something that God is inviting them to discover through intimate communion with Him. Jesus said: “The kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:21 KJV Paul said: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16 And Jesus prayed: “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us.” John 17:21 Do you see the invitation? Christianity was never intended to be merely an external religious performance. It is an invitation into living communion with the Father through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Teresa taught that prayer is not merely reciting words. It is developing an intimate friendship with the One who loves us. She described seven mansions representing the soul’s progressive transformation through prayer, humility, surrender, divine love, and ultimately spiritual union. But here’s something fascinating. The deeper Teresa went into contemplative prayer, the more she emphasized humility, self-knowledge, and love for others. The goal was never simply to have supernatural experiences. The goal was to become transformed by the love of God. And that transformation must manifest in how we actually live. You can speak in tongues, prophesy, have visions, and experience extraordinary encounters, but if you aren’t growing in love, what are we really accomplishing?

Saint Teresa Day 5!
DAY FIVE: THE SOUL THAT HAS BECOME ONE WITH GOD FIVE DAYS WITH SAINT TERESA OF ÁVILA THE FINAL DAY: DIVINE UNION For the past five days, we have journeyed through the extraordinary wisdom of Saint Teresa of Ávila, a woman who understood that the greatest spiritual journey is not outward but inward. Today, we arrive at the destination of her teachings. UNION WITH GOD. Saint Teresa described the soul as an interior castle with seven dwelling places. At the center of that castle is the deepest intimacy with God, what she called spiritual marriage. This is where prayer becomes more than words. Love becomes more than emotion. And knowing God becomes more than religious information. It becomes a life of communion. Jesus prayed in John 17:21: “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us.” Saint Teresa understood that the deepest spiritual transformation is not simply experiencing God occasionally but becoming so surrendered to divine love that our entire human experience begins to reflect that relationship. Our thoughts become more loving. Our reactions become more peaceful. Our desires become more purified. Our relationships become more compassionate. And our lives begin bearing the fruit of the Spirit. But Teresa also understood something powerful. The evidence of divine union is not how many visions we experience, how deeply we meditate, or how mystical our encounters become. The evidence is LOVE. The more deeply we encounter God, the more freely we should love humanity. This is the beautiful culmination of our five days together. We began by turning inward. We discovered the importance of stillness. We explored surrender and transformation. And now we arrive at the beautiful mystery of union with God. Not escaping our humanity, but allowing divine love to transform how we live it. Galatians 2:20 says: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me.” TODAY’S ACTIVATION Find a quiet place.

Saint Teresa Day 4!
DAY FOUR: THE INTERIOR CASTLE FIVE DAYS WITH SAINT TERESA OF ÁVILA WHAT IF EVERYTHING YOU’VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR IS ALREADY WITHIN YOU? Saint Teresa of Ávila taught that the soul is like a beautiful castle with many rooms, and at its center is the dwelling place of God. The deeper we journey inward through prayer, surrender, humility, and love, the more intimately we encounter Him. Jesus said in Luke 17:21, “The kingdom of God is within you.” And Paul declared in 1 Corinthians 3:16, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” Teresa understood something profound. Spiritual maturity isn’t simply about knowing more information about God. It’s about growing in communion with Him until His love transforms the way we think, live, and love others. The outer world constantly demands our attention, but the inner life invites us into stillness. You don’t have to spend your entire life searching outside yourself for what God desires to cultivate within you. DAY FOUR ACTIVATION Today, spend 15 minutes in silence. Close your eyes. Breathe slowly. Release your distractions. Invite the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas of your heart that need healing, surrender, or renewal. Ask yourself: Am I living from the peace of Christ within me, or reacting to the noise around me? The goal isn’t merely to visit God’s presence during prayer. The goal is to become increasingly aware of His presence throughout your entire human experience. The deeper the intimacy, the greater the transformation. This Is The Way!

Saint Teresa Day 3!
FIVE DAYS WITH SAINT TERESA OF ÁVILA! DAY THREE: THE PRAYER OF QUIET! When the Mind Becomes Still, the Soul Awakens to God. What if the deepest encounter with God isn’t found in doing more, praying louder, or striving harder? What if it begins when you finally become still? Saint Teresa of Ávila, one of Christianity’s great mystics, taught that prayer is not merely speaking to God. It is entering into a loving relationship with the One who already dwells within us. On Day One, we discovered that the Kingdom is within. On Day Two, we learned that prayer is friendship with God. Today, we go deeper. THE PRAYER OF QUIET. Teresa described a stage of contemplative prayer where the soul experiences a profound interior peace. The will rests in God’s love, even when the mind still produces thoughts. You are no longer trying to manufacture an encounter. You are learning to receive. You are no longer desperately searching for God’s presence. You are becoming aware of the One who has never left you. THE SCRIPTURAL FOUNDATION Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God.” 1 Kings 19:12 “And after the fire a still small voice.” John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.” Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” THE DEEPER REVELATION Silence is not the absence of God. Silence can become the place where our awareness of His presence deepens. You do not have to chase what already dwells within you. You do not have to perform to earn divine intimacy. And you do not have to force your mind into perfect silence to experience God’s peace. The prayer of quiet invites us to surrender our striving and rest in divine love. TODAY’S ACTIVATION Find a quiet place. Sit comfortably. Breathe slowly and naturally. Release the pressure to accomplish anything. Bring your attention gently to God’s presence. When thoughts arise, do not fight them. Simply return your attention to love. Remain there for 10 minutes.

Saint Teresa Day 3!
Saint Teresa Day 2!
THIS IS THE WAY FIVE DAYS WITH SAINT TERESA OF ÁVILA DAY TWO: PRAYER IS FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD What if prayer was never supposed to be begging a distant God to come closer? What if prayer is awakening to the divine friendship that has been available to you all along? Saint Teresa of Ávila understood something revolutionary about prayer over 400 years ago. She wrote: “Mental prayer, in my opinion, is nothing else than an intimate sharing between friends; it means taking time frequently to be alone with Him who we know loves us.” The Book of Her Life, Chapter 8 Read that again. PRAYER IS FRIENDSHIP. Not performance. Not religious obligation. Not trying to convince God to love you. Not desperately attempting to get heaven’s attention. It is communion with the One who already loves you. And this changes everything. 1. GOD IS NOT LOOKING FOR A PERFORMANCE. Jesus said: “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret.” Matthew 6:6 Notice where Jesus directs your attention. Away from the crowd. Away from appearances. Away from religious performance. Into the secret place. Teresa called us into this interior life, where prayer becomes an ongoing relationship rather than an occasional religious activity. 2. YOU WERE CREATED FOR COMMUNION. “Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” 1 John 1:3 Christianity was never intended to be merely an intellectual agreement about God. It is participation in divine life. It is knowing Him. It is loving Him. It is learning to recognize His presence in the ordinary moments of your day. Teresa understood that the deepest spiritual transformation happens through love and relationship, not simply through religious effort. 3. STILLNESS MAKES ROOM FOR FRIENDSHIP. “Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 Some people have spent their entire lives talking AT God without learning to sit quietly WITH God. Teresa taught recollection, the practice of gathering our wandering attention and turning inward toward the presence of Christ.
