Sneak Peak Pressers!
Pressers! Sneak peak… (also video is specifically for straddle pressers to feel the mechanics/timing discussed below). In the Premium membership, pressers will get a FULL Roadmap to understand the press handstand skill in its entirety as I break down the skill and make it simple. Then you can use the roadmap strategy and progress to success. One of the most important parts of the press handstand roadmap is the mechanics of the lift off the ground. I’ve had a few questions about it, so here is a sneak peak. Too many people make the mistake of having fully elevated soldiers at the set up and then have to use SO MUCH CORE to lift there hips that it is crazy hard. Instead use simple timing to find ease and lift. 1. Load the hands 2. Coordinate the hip lift with the elevation of the shoulders 3. Ensure chest continues to come towards thighs. This mechanism/timing is just one part of understanding the skill of a press handstand. Other necessary things include optimal entrance, taking out the variables (breath, hand foundation, etc), an exit strategy of the wall or spotter (especially if your shoulder strength/scapular stability is questionable), and the necessary compression flexibility and strength. The following 3 drills help to feel this timing of lift off with the straddle press entrance.

How should I get started… post #3
Hi Handstanders How should I start is a question I have gotten a couple times now: I would check out the “Classroom” tab, so when we discuss things we are all talking the same language and on the same roadmap. That will keep things effective and efficient and we can have some fun! Remember - learn the 3 Rules and 3 Essentials first. Then we can understand the skill. Apply the Roadmap and get upside down!!!. Happy Monday!!!

For my beginners & Pressers - post #2
optimizing your entrance is always important whether you are just beginning or pressing… you will be more effective when you use an entrance that works for your pelvic tilt, mobility, arm length, fast twitch vs slow twitch, etc! I am here to help. Just send me your questions and videos, learn the 3 rules and 3 essentials, and let’s handstand & more

Why you don’t have to hold a handstand - post #1
What handstand myth did you believe for a long time that was frustrating and held you back? Me: You have to hold a straight up handstand for a long time to be successful. MYTH BUSTED: It’s hard for my lats and spine to hold a straight handstand. Can I do it - yes but it’s super uncomfortable for my body. I like other leg shapes. Also I don’t like holding any skill for a long time. I like movement and that is ok!!!
