AUGUST INTENTIONS
Hey Beautiful — welcome to August inside the HER Calm & Confident Collective™. 💜 I know we are already a week or so in — but I wanted to sit down with you and share what this month has in store. Because August is full, it is intentional, and every single piece of content was chosen with YOU in mind. August Theme ✨ Strength, Stillness & Self ✨ And before we go any further — I want you to notice something about that phrase. Strength comes first. But stillness is right beside it. Because in this season of your life, the two are not opposites. They belong together. Real strength — the kind that sustains you through hormonal transition, through life changes, through the quiet hard days — that kind of strength requires stillness to grow. So here is what we have planned for you this August: 💜

A Time for Reflection
Hey Beautiful, Tonight we step into the energy of the Sturgeon Moon, arriving at 12:19 a.m. EDT — right on the heels of a deep partial lunar eclipse. Most of the Moon will be covered in shadow, glowing that soft orange-red that feels like a cosmic exhale. The Sturgeon Moon is named, by the Native Americans, after the massive, ancient fish — were most abundant in the Great Lakes and waterways. Their presence symbolized: Longevity Resilience Ancient wisdom Survival through deep waters Their message for us? You are built for endurance. You are built for transformation. You are built for seasons that require strength. As the Moon moves through shadow, you may notice your own shadows rising — old patterns, old emotions, old stories that want to be released. For Women of Color — Your Nervous System Reacts Differently Eclipse energy can feel like: Emotional heaviness Sudden irritability Feeling “off” or overstimulated Old memories resurfacing A need to withdraw or rest This isn’t you “being dramatic.” This is your body processing generations of resilience. Your body is wise. Your spirit is steady. Your healing is valid. The Sturgeon Moon reminds you: You rise even in shadow. You shine even in transition. You are allowed to rest while you transform. Tonight, let's try one of these grounding practices: 🌬️ 4-2-6 breathing (inhale 4, hold 2, exhale 6) 🧘🏽‍♀️ Shoulder drop + jaw release ✍🏽 Write one thing you’re releasing + one thing you’re reclaiming 🌿 Warm tea + slow breathing before bed Tonight’s reflection: What part of me is ready to rise out of the deep? #HERCalmConfidentCollective #SturgeonMoon #EclipseEnergy #WOCHealing #NervousSystemCare

Popping in for our next symptom in The 34™ — and this one asks us to be gentle with each other.
The 34™ #6: Depression and Loss of Interest (Psychological Category) Sis, if you've noticed lately that things you used to love feel flat… if joy seems to be happening at a distance, like you can see it but can't quite touch it… if the world has gone a little gray and you can't figure out where the color went… I need you to hear this today: you are not becoming a joyless person. You are experiencing a real neurochemical dimming that comes with this transition — and it is temporary, treatable, and not your fault. Perimenopausal depression is one of the most under-recognized symptoms in this whole 34, because women mistake it for "just getting older" or "just having a lot going on." It's often neither. Please hear this too: if the gray is heavy, if you're struggling to function, if you're having thoughts of harming yourself — please reach out to your doctor, a therapist, or a crisis line today. In the U.S., call or text 988. Community is beautiful. Community is not a substitute for the medical care you deserve. One gentle practice for this week — The One Small Yes: each day, say yes to ONE small thing that used to bring you pleasure. A walk. A song. A short call with a friend. Not because you feel like it. Because you're building evidence that pleasure still lives in you. Now — in our safe space — I want to ask you something real: 👇 What is ONE thing you used to love, that has felt flat lately? Naming it here is not admitting defeat. It's the first step toward reaching back for it. I'll go first in the comments. 💜 — Coach Dorothy
