Welcome!
Introduce yourself and share your best tip for homeschooling through high school! My name is Dawn, and I'm a homeschool mom of four. I have a son in college, a daughter in high school and two girls in middle school. I've been homeschooling since my oldest was in 4th grade, and LOVE IT!! I am part of two homeschool co-ops that I am so, so grateful for. And teaching high school classes is my happy place! My best tip is to make a goal transcript right away. That way you have a plan you're working with (even though it will need to be changed a thousand times 😁).

Weekly Check-In
Thomas Aquinas on Motion
Thomas Aquinas, an Italian philosopher and theologian had this to say about motion: "It is certain, and evident to our senses, that in the world some things are in motion. Now whatever is in motion is put in motion by another ... If that by which it is put in motion be itself put in motion, then this also must needs be put in motion by another, and that by another again. But his cannot go on to infinity ... Therefore it is necessary to arrive at a first mover, put in motion by no other; and this everyone understands to be God." What are your thoughts on this idea? ⚛️ We will be discussing motion in one dimension next week in Physics class!

Independence in High School
How are you helping your student become more independent in school this year? Or if you're a student, what new steps are you taking on your own this year. I know we can't go from complete dependence to independence overnight, so I'm wondering about baby steps we can help our kids make to become a little more independent with their schooling. What are your thoughts?
