JUNE UPDATE
We’re all busy people who don’t have time to be checking and interacting with multiple online communities so it makes sense to send everyone an occasional catch-up email rather than expecting you all to be having Skool conversations with each other every day. This way, you can see if there’s anything of interest you want to check out. In the spirit of working smarter, not harder, this message is going to members of both Skool groups - Horses Connect and Sustain your EA practice – because many of you are members of both. What’s the Difference? The main difference is that the Horses Connect Skool community is a public space for anyone interested in equine-assisted work. It also contains the libraries of resources (private) for graduates of the Horses Connect TR?EAL Coaching course and the Horses Connect Equine-assisted learning and Personal Development Course. Sustain your EA Practice is a private group and it’s has just had a name change! We’ve realised that overwhelm, burnout, and that sense of ‘oh F**k what do I do now?!’ is not exclusive to equine-assisted practitioners. Many people in caring professions have the same experience. THE REALISTIC GROWTH COMMUNITY is there to help! Both groups offer free lifetime membership with options to purchase courses, or upgrade to get them free. Remember to keep an eye on both Classrooms because we’re adding more content soon. And, if you have any requests for resources or courses or information, please let us know. What else has been happening? THE REALISTIC GROWTH COMMUNITY is now running a Member Spotlight feature. At the moment, @Chaela Sumner is in the hotseat but she will be handing over to @Lucy Seeley in the next few days. MEMBER SPOTLIGHT is your opportunity to answer a set of questions on you, your business, and anything else relevant to the community that you want to share, and the post in pinned in the community.

We’ve just added a new free short course to the Classroom
Evict Your Elephants A simple Horses Connect exploration of awareness, energy, and choice It’s based on something most of us are very familiar with… even if we don’t always name it. The things that: - take up more space than they should - quietly drain energy - or sit there… influencing everything… without being acknowledged No big promises here. No dramatic transformations. Just a simple structure to help you: · notice what’s already there · understand the cost of ignoring it · and take one small, manageable step forward It’s short. It’s practical. And you can move through it at your own pace. You don’t need to share anything publicly unless you want to. This is just as valuable as a quiet, personal process. And as always, be more horse! · They don’t ignore what’s in the space. · They notice. · They respond. I wonder what might shift if we try the same approach? You’ll find it in the Classroom now QUESTION: What (or who) tends to take up more time, energy, or headspace than it should for you?

Hello and welcome to our recent new members, We’re delighted to have you in our little herd 😊 Please introduce yourself, make yourself at home, explore the Classroom - and shout if you can’t find what you’re looking for 😊 We’re always happy to provide information or resources. IF YOU'RE NEW TO SKOOL Some groups limit who can post and when so make sure you're posting in the correct CATEGORY. So far, we haven't had to place any restrictions on posting and would like to keep it that way. To find the list of Categories in any group, click on the little arrow under the comment box and choose the appropriate one for what you're sharing. In this group, LINKS without any context will be immediately removed and might get you banned🙃. So please, if you must share link, let us know where you're sending us. THE SPIRIT OF THIS GROUP IS CONNECTION AND COLLABORATION. We're not in competition with each other so please share your expertise - nobody has all the information and we can all learn from each other. There's even a category called Share Your Expertise 😊 Share what you know and what can be helpful to the group - even if it's not directly horse-related. One my passions is Personal Development so there will be posts and courses aimed at helping us be the best possible version of ourselves. I'm extremely fortunate to be able to combine my passion for personal development with my passion for horses and create powerful and deeply transformational Horses Connect trainings and events. Photos of your horses or other 4 legged friends are always welcome 😁

Wet Feet
Yesterday morning, I left for work wearing footwear that was not waterproof. In my defence, I had checked the weather app and it told me that we’d have a dry day. What I hadn’t bargained for was that the copious amounts of rain the night had left the outdoor arena wet and mushy. I was barely 5 minutes into setting it up for the day when I realised that my feet were soaked 😳 And then it became clear that the weather hadn’t consulted the app and didn’t know it wasn’t supposed to rain 🌧️ Like all horse people, my car is always full of ‘just in case’ supplies so I knew I had extra socks and boots. But here was my dilemma - the spare boots were only slightly less un-waterproof than the ones I was wearing. At what point should I change out the wet footwear into the dry set that would eventually lead to soaking wet feet again? I stuck it out until after lunch. By then, my feet couldn’t have been any wetter. The dry socks and boots felt amazing - until they didn’t 🤣 QUESTION: What do you think about delayed gratification - putting off an immediate reward now for a bigger and better one later?

A Movie Worth Seeing!
Last night, I went to see the documentary Rescued Hearts. It was hosted at a local theater as part of a fundraising event for a local therapeutic riding center. I went in not knowing what to expect, but somewhere along the way, I found myself thinking about Snooks, the Tennessee Walking Horse my parents bought me when I was a teenager. He suffered a serious injury just days later, and for nearly four months, I could not ride him. I went out almost every day just to care for him and spend time with him, and we grew very close. I always knew that time changed Snooks, and people who had known him before told me the same. He went from being a machine to being a horse. I remember wondering if anyone had ever loved him before. What I did not realize until last night was how much he changed me, too. I remember pouring my heart out to him about my problems, fears, and frustrations. He helped an insecure young girl begin to find confidence and self-respect. The film brought back memories I had not thought about in years and reminded me just how deeply a horse can become part of our healing. It’s really a “who rescued who” situation. Here is the link to the trailer and more information about the film if you are interested. https://www.rescuedheartsfilm.com/
