MAJESTY OF REASON CONVERTS TO CATHOLICISM
Obviously everyone is getting this on their YT feed, but my excitement is too much to contain right now. Joe Schmid, agnostic extraordinaire, is now a Catholic Christian. And for what majestic reason did he change his mind? The weight of the evidence for Christian miracles. His first reaction was panic: an "oh no" at the cognitive dissonance between his worldview and the incoming evidence. But then, he describes his journey as a love story between him and God. The "oh no" became awe and wonder at God's goodness. I wonder how we can facilitate that change of heart and attitude in the hearts of those we're reaching with our apologetic efforts. Hope this encourages everyone here, God bless!
Do y'all think it's worth to debate with people like him?
Hey, I almost stumble upon comments like those (see the screenshot below) on a daily basis. So now I was wondering- is it even worth to engage with people like him? I mean, most comments like those, are from people that tend to respond in bad faith, so I was wondering if it's completely pointless to argue with them, or if they maybe "snap" sometimes- meaning you can actually have a decent conversation with them? I would categorize the type of comments I usually see, that annoy me, in 2 category's; - The average reddit new atheist who just yells "sky daddy" (like the guy in the screenshot) - The guy who claims he's open to God and religion, but kinda doesn't act that way So- What types of people should I engage with, and what is just wasted time ?
