Hi All! I started kicking the distance of our wedding anniversary a couple years ago and good from 33 yds this past July. Looking forward to working with Mike on my mechanics as increasingly, as the years go by, will be more challenging!🤠

Senate passes Protect College Sports Act
The Senate passed the Protect College Sports Act (PCSA) by a 77-22 vote on Monday night, sending the bipartisan bill to the House, which would usher in sweeping reform to college athletics. Authored by Sen. Ted Cruz and Sen. Maria Cantwell, the Senate vote marks an unprecedented moment in college sports after years of lobbying for federal legislation. Monday night’s Senate vote moves the bill another step closer to becoming law. It still needs to pass the House and receive President Donald Trump’s signature. Trump has long supported the legislation. • Limit athletes to one transfer without penalty • Standardize the new five-year, age-based eligibility policy • Increase the revenue-sharing cap to nearly $50 million • Put more enforcement in place around the rev-share cap • Create an agent registry with a maximum 5% fee • Allow schools to pool together their media rights The bill now moves to the House, which is not expected to return to Washington, D.C., until after the midterm elections in November. Cruz has said he hopes to get it signed before the Nov. 3 elections. “This bill is about what makes college sports uniquely American,” Cruz said on the Senate floor Monday. The bill underwent revisions this summer, as Senators struck a deal with the SEC and Big Ten to garner support from college sports’ two biggest conferences. Two similar punts, same kid — very different results.
This is Oliver, a 15 year old sophomore who is his high school's starting kicker... and has been kicking for the JV, too, because they don't have anyone. Great for him, he gets twice the reps! However, he wasn't fired up to punt, even though he certainly can punt. With some encouragement from his parents (and a certain coach), Oliver was put in to punt in the JV game last night. Ball deep in his own territory, he needs to get his team out of a jam. First punt spirals out 35 yards to midfield (excellent), but with a shallow 2.7 hangtime and punting it right down the middle (not making the returner move to catch it) means he got the ball quickly and, with some poor coverage and tackling, the punt return man takes it to the house! 😳. Oliver tries to make a "bump" tackle and misses. Shoot! Don't let that guy score... KICKERS & PUNTERS, the sideline has never missed a tackle. You don't have to tackle the guy — just funnel him to the sideline and SHOVE him out of bounds (with your hands and some force). If you don't miss, he won't stay in bounds. On the second punt, from almost the same location, Oliver hits a 30 yard punt, BUT with a 3.4 hangtime. Not so much time for the returner to plot his course. The coverage still misses the first tackle, but is there to swarm him. A net of 30 yards for the team! THE ONLY STAT that really counts is NET PUNTING AVERAGE. Punt 1: Net of -15 yards and 6 pts for the opponent. Punt 2: Net of 30 yards. _ _ _ HS Coaches: Net 30+ yards. College Coaches: Net 35+ yards. Pro Coaches: Net 40+ yards. It's pretty much that simple. 🏈 _ _ _ Thank you @Kathleen Shane for sharing!

Did you watch the game last night?
Great see-saw game where it's a shame someone has to go home with a loss. Took this video while watching at home of the game winning kick. Play it over-and-over. Watch Harrison Butker's form and where his energy is moving, especially after the kick. It's "only" a 42 yard field goal. A chip shot by pro standards, but a lot can go wrong in 42 yards. Distance isn't the problem — accuracy is. Butker's smooth swing and energy toward the posts is rock solid (it does not move left of right). If he gets even a modest hit on the ball, it will travel about 40 yards without any movement at all. How could he miss?

Wow.
These are the highest paid college football players for this season.... Although there isn't a kicker even close to these marks, understand, just like in the NFL, as the price for QB's goes up, so too does it for specialists. (i.e. — NFL: Mahomes $65MM vs. Aubrey $7MM) From On3.com: Darian Mensah, Miami: $6M+ Darian Mensah entered the transfer portal on the final day of the January transfer window and, after a legal battle and settlement, ended up at Miami. His deal calls for more than $6 million, sources tell On3, but that includes incentives. He’s one of the highest-paid players in college football history. Dante Moore, Oregon: $5M Dante Moore walked away from first-round NFL draft quarterback money to return to Oregon for a final season following an exit in the CFP semifinals. Moore told On3 this offseason he’s motivated by his teammates and a final shot at a national championship. Sources told On3 that Moore’s deal with Oregon for the 2026 season sits at roughly $5 million. Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss: $5M Trinidad Chambliss signed a revenue-share contract with Ole Miss in excess of $5 million annually in January to return to Oxford for another season, sources told On3 at the time. He later received an injunction against the NCAA to return for the 2026 season and enters the fall as a Heisman Trophy frontrunner. Sam Leavitt, LSU: $4.5M The most sought-after transfer quarterback in January’s portal window, Leavitt visited Kentucky, Miami, LSU and Tennessee. But the chance to play for Lane Kiffin in Baton Rouge was too much to turn down. Sources told On3 that Leavitt will be making roughly $4.5 million this season with the Tigers.
