Welcome to Weekly Shifts
This space is where I share one grounded insight each week to help you see yourself, your patterns and your life a little differently. Not mindset hacks or “try harder” energy. But more reflecting and getting to know yourself on a deeper level. Each post will usually include: - A common struggle many people here are experiencing - What’s actually happening beneath the surface - A gentle shift you can apply in real life Some weeks will be practical. Some weeks more reflective. Some weeks nervous-system focused. Some weeks subconscious or embodiment-based. You don’t need to fix anything before reading these. Just notice what feels right for you. If something resonates, you’re welcome to share with the other members. If there is a specific topic you would like me to talk about, feel free to let me know. This is about integration, not consumption.

Are you choosing yourself?
Okay, I have to be honest with you about something. For the longest time, I didn't feel like I was ever the chosen one. And it was SO easy to make up reasons why. It's not me, it's them. They don't deserve me. They just got out of a long relationship. Now isn't the right time. Honestly, the list never ended. I'm guessing some of you know exactly what I'm talking about. But one day I just had it. I was so tired of pouring my time and energy into people who weren't pouring it back into me. And then came the harder part. The part I didn't want to admit. It wasn't that they weren't choosing me. I wasn't choosing me. I wasn't showing up for myself. I was letting myself down, over and over. They were just reflecting that back to me the whole time. So I started small. I started showing up for me. Choosing me. Doing things because they were good for me, not because they'd make someone else happy. And that's really when everything shifted. I'll be real with you though, it's not a one-and-done thing. It's ongoing. I still forget sometimes and slip back into old patterns. That's okay. The difference now is I catch myself faster and I come back to myself quicker every single time. A few things that have actually helped me choose myself, in case they're useful to you too: - Doing the thing before I feel ready. The workout, the posting on social media, the job application. I stopped waiting for motivation to show up first. - Checking in with myself first. Just once a day, even for five minutes, asking what do I actually need right now, before I answer that question for everyone else. - Keeping my word to me. The small promises. If I told myself I'd take that walk, I took it. That's where the trust started rebuilding. The trust for myself. So I'll ask you the same thing I had to ask myself... do you choose you? I'd love to hear where you're at with this, drop it in the comments. Much love, Neda

Sit in silence
I am a person who used to always be on the run, doing something or talking to someone. I loved having a busy schedule. I didn’t understand that was my way of avoiding the thoughts and emotions that were running the show in the background. I didn't think I would appreciate sitting in silence and how that would change me. But it did. 15 minutes. Every single day. Sitting there when my brain was loudest and my to-do list was even louder. Preferably in the evening, in the dark. Here's what nobody tells you: when you first sit in silence, the thoughts you've been avoiding start showing up. All of them. At once. That's usually the moment people quit and say "meditation isn't for me." But if you stay with it and just observe those thoughts instead of running from them... they start to pass. And what comes after is blissful peace. It might take a while, a few weeks or even months. But peace will come. Neuroscience actually has a name for what happens next; default mode network activation. It's the state where things start to flow naturally again. Where even old pain and old patterns in your neural system have room to move and release. I'm not saying it's easy. I'm saying it's worth it. If you've been avoiding sitting in silence because of what might come up, I get it. That was me too. Are you gonna try this? Or if you have, what finally got you to try it (or what's still keeping you from it)? Drop it below, I read every comment. 👇 Much love, Neda
