السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُنَّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ A reminder for myself first, then for my beloved sisters. The jinn are a real creation of Allah, and believing in them is part of our īmān because Allah mentions them in the Qur’an. Among them are Muslims and disbelievers, just as there are among mankind. However, as believers, we should not live in fear of the jinn. Our trust is in Allah alone. The strongest protection is sincere tawḥīd, obedience to Allah, and following the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ. Allah says: “Indeed, he has no authority over those who have believed and rely upon their Lord.” (Qur’an 16:99) Allah also tells us: “And if there comes to you from Shayṭān an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.” (Qur’an 7:200) The Prophet ﷺ taught us to protect ourselves by: • Reciting Āyat al-Kursī before sleeping. • Reciting Sūrah Al-Ikhlāṣ, Sūrah Al-Falaq, and Sūrah An-Nās every morning, every evening, and before sleeping. • Saying Bismillāh before entering our homes, eating, drinking, and entering the restroom. • Keeping our five daily prayers and remembering Allah often. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever recites Āyat al-Kursī at night, there will remain over him a guardian from Allah, and no devil will approach him until morning.” (Authentically reported in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī) May Allah protect us, our children, and our homes from Shayṭān and every evil jinn. May He strengthen our tawḥīd, increase us in beneficial knowledge, and keep our hearts attached to the Qur’an and the Sunnah. اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنَا وَاحْفَظْ أَهْلَنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ. آمِين.
