Hell Together
This is from David Archuleta's new song, "Hell Together".
"Hell Together" means sticking with someone through very hard, painful, or even disastrous circumstances. Like we will face the situation together, no matter how bad it is.
When I first saw this phrase "hell together", I thought it sounded too negative.
After watching the video and listening to the song, I realized that this song was written for his mother, who gave him encouragement and support when he came out as queer in 2021.
It was very hard for him because he grew up in a very traditional religious family.
David Archuleta recalled his mom saying, 'I don't want to be somewhere where my children don't feel loved and welcomed. And if you're going to hell, then we're all going to hell with you.'
I am so glad that David expressed himself bravely, and he is lucky to have such a wonderful mother.
