I can't wait to help you on your journey. I have learnt the hard way how to build my channel since 2020 and I think the new YouTube update is a positive thing. But why its going to be 8000 hours watch time ? because if you have already started a channel and its not going as well as you would like or you have been thinking of starting a channel but kept putting it off then this is just what you need A DEADLINE !
