wow. I wanted to share a few thoughts. This group started as a school for copywriters, but over time it evolved into a space for creative writing. As many of you know, there are already two masterclasses available here, and I’ll be adding more in the future. The goal is simple: a free community where writers can read one another’s work and be read in return. From experience, I know that not everyone who joins will participate in good faith. Some people won’t read, engage, or contribute—they’ll simply try to use the community to promote themselves. Promotion is perfectly fine; there’s a dedicated section for it. But I’ll always ask for mutual respect and genuine participation. I’ve seen writing communities descend into chaos before. That’s not what we want here. I’d like this place to feel like an online retreat for writers. If you have doubts, ask. If you’ve written something you’re proud of, share it. If you’ve had a success worth celebrating, tell us. Someone will read it. Just remember to return the favour. Let me give you an example. For eight months, my growth on Substack was almost nonexistent. I just kept writing and publishing. Then, over the last couple of weeks, I started reading other people’s work, leaving thoughtful comments, and restacking articles and Notes. The result? I now gain new followers or subscribers every day (5, sometimes 7), without spending a penny. That’s the real secret to being noticed: invest time in getting to know people genuinely. A writer’s intelligence is reflected not only in what they write, but also in how they respond to the work of others. Every great writer has, at some point, engaged with another great writer. A community like this—full of ideas, ambition, and hope—deserves to be protected, enriched, and supported. Some of you are already doing exactly that. You write. You reply. You encourage others. Some even leave prayers and kind words. In many ways, it mirrors life outside these walls. Thank you for being here.

Write and Read - Brief Introduction
Alright. A new Board for your writing process! Yeah! Here you can share your work, pieces of what you’re writing, or excerpts from a book you’ve already published. Let’s keep this an honest board. If we write, we should read as well. That way, anyone who shares their work here and wants to be read will have a real audience of readers. But I’ll say it again: if you want people to read your work, return the favour by reading others too. That’s how a community works. I’d also encourage writers to share just a few pieces at a time, maybe one or two a day, so readers have the time to actually read them and, hopefully, leave a comment. 😃 How does all of this sound? enjoy!

High-Concept: The Premise That Sells Your Story
This is a gift for my community. It’s a topic unknown to many, but very important when we pitch our novel to an agent. A strong high-concept premise strengthens your chances of landing an agent and, subsequently, a publisher. In my classroom, inside Creative Writing Basic, you’ll find a clear breakdown of what “high-concept” really means, why agents look for it, and how to shape your idea so it works in a single sentence. At the end of the article, you’ll find a ready-to-use ChatGPT prompt to turn your story into a strong high-concept pitch. If you read it, please leave a comment with your high-concept premise. Also, not every story has a high-concept premise by default, so this is a challenge you might want to take on. 🙂 https://www.skool.com/marcello-iori-7056/classroom/b302f4fe?md=d6a6e730f03f4a4580b04663e53e3a18
Unfinished Things Leave Marks
How was your week? Mine was very full, and by Friday evening I was wrecked. On Saturday I was more or less a zombie. Today is better, so I found myself thinking about you, about this solitary community, full of prayers and people. Real people. We do not do "how to write your first novel" here, or "how to make money with books written by AI." What we have here is the real work, and maybe I do not point at it often enough. There is a whole section on screenwriting and creative writing in the Classroom. The screenwriting part even has videos I made with an avatar. You should know that those screenwriting lessons come straight out of a university level course, and they hold up just as well if you write novels. There are parts I would like to finish. I have not had the chance to develop them yet. The thing is, this community was born as an exchange more than as a road to success. Success is in your hands whether or not you have finished your novel. I have written several novels and publishers have put them out. I published before I knew the rules, and after. The rules are a guide. A compass. Originality is where the rules get broken, but they are still doing their work when it happens, and how those rules manage that is often a mystery. So there is a guide in the Classroom. There are instructions. I did not invent them. They are there to become your compass, and they will also tell you whether the people you are handing your creativity to know what they are doing. Out there, too many gurus will inject you with their dose of truth. Often it is poison. Some of them do know their trade. So if you have doubts about your path, this is a place to talk it through and check. It is no secret that there is a whole business of scams and exploitation aimed at authors, because some people's dreams are somebody else's salary, and there are people who will make money on ours. In 2021 I paid a modest sum for a marketing campaign for my book. I wanted to see whether it worked. They promised at least twenty five blogs would write about it, plus other services. The twenty five bloggers turned out to be mostly their own blogs, invented, with long names, impossible to find on a search engine, and every review said the same thing. Anonymous people really.
Sunday blessings brothers and sisters...
Sunday, August 23, 2026 Mark 10:15-16 (NIV) “Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” “And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.” Heavenly Father, thank You for showing us the heart of Jesus. Help us to have faith that is simple, pure, and trusting like a little child. Teach us to humbly receive Your kingdom with joy and open hearts. Bless our children, Lord. Surround them with Your love and protection, guide them in Your truth, and may Your hands always rest upon them. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. 🦋🙏💕
