🚐 Caravan Life Update A Lot Has Changed It’s been a while since I’ve posted in here, so I thought it was probably time for a proper life update. A LOT has been happening behind the scenes. One of the biggest wins the car is officially paid off. 🙌 That’s been a pretty massive milestone for me. Having that debt completely gone feels bloody good, especially knowing how much easier it makes things moving forward. But funny enough, once you pay something off, life seems to find other ways to spend the money 😂 Over the last little while I’ve had around $6,000 worth of work and upgrades done on the car brakes, rotors, suspension and a few other things to get it into a much better place. I’ve still got tyres coming up next, because apparently the car isn’t finished costing me money just yet 😂 But I’m trying to look at it differently. Rather than just seeing it as money I’ve “had to spend”, I’m trying to see it as future-proofing something I rely on and making sure the car is safe, reliable and ready for the years ahead. We’ve also had around $1,500 in dental work, so there have definitely been a few unexpected expenses stacking up lately. And that’s probably one of the biggest lessons I’m learning at the moment: Sometimes life just costs money. You can have a plan, a savings goal and everything mapped out… and then the car needs brakes, the tyres need replacing, something needs fixing, or life throws something else at you. The goal isn’t to avoid every expense. It’s to get yourself into a position where you can handle them without everything falling apart. ⸻ 🏕️ Caravan life We’re still living the caravan life and working towards the bigger goal of getting our own place. It’s not always glamorous 😂 but there’s something pretty rewarding about knowing we’re making sacrifices now for something we’re trying to build for our family. And I’m still very much focused on getting that house deposit together. ⸻ 🦵 Recovery + back to work I’m also heading back to work next week after my ACL surgery.
