MBW Monday - Day One: Learning to Listen
“Animals do speak, but only to those who know how to listen.” Orhan Pamuk Today we're beginning a new weekly conversation inspired by my book, Moving Beyond Words – Our Shared Journey. Each Monday, I'll share a bite-sized idea or passage from the book and invite you to explore what it might mean within your own relationship with your animal companion. You don't need to have read the book to join the conversation—just bring your experiences, observations and curiosity. Communication with our animal companions goes far beyond words. They communicate through body language, behaviour, movement, sounds, choices and sometimes simply by the way they respond to us. The more we learn to notice these subtle signals, the more we begin to understand the world from their point of view. It can as so subtle that you don't even recognize it as being a form of communication, it could have developed over time, and you may not even realize that you are connecting beyond words. What is something your animal companion does that you know is communicating something to you—even though no words are involved?

📖 Moving Beyond Words Monday???
I had a thought today... Yes, it's been that kind of day.... After the conversations we've been having and thinking about content... I thought... Maybe I should read my own book! 😉 I know that sounds funny, but since Moving Beyond Words – Our Shared Journey was published, I've been so busy building this community, creating new programs and continuing to explore the relationships we share with our animals that I haven't really gone back and read it simply as a reader. So I'm going to. And I thought I'd invite you along. Each Monday, I'll share something from Moving Beyond Words — perhaps a passage, a story, a question, or even something I wrote that makes me stop and think differently now. Because our relationships aren't static. We continue to learn. We notice new things. And sometimes we can return to something familiar and discover something completely different. So welcome to Moving Beyond Words Monday. If you want to join along, you can access either the physical book on amazon ... here is the link Moving Beyond Words - Our Shared Journey - Moving Beyond Words - The Book · Moving Beyond Words, Or you can access the digital copy and the workbook for $9 here> Moving Beyond Words - Digital Copy - MBW Digital Book File and Companion Workbook · Moving Beyond Words Let's see where the journey takes us.

Welcome—I'm really glad you're here 🤍
This space was created for those who feel there is something deeper in the relationship with their animal companion… something beyond training, beyond surface-level solutions. If you’ve ever felt confused, frustrated, or simply sensed that your animal is trying to communicate something more—you’re not alone. My work over the past 30+ years has shown me that true change doesn’t come from control… it comes from understanding, awareness, and connection. Here, we’ll explore that together. You’ll find insights, reflections, and simple ways to begin seeing your animal—and your relationship—in a new light. Inside you'll find: 🐾 Thought-provoking conversations and community discussions 💛 Relationship-centered insights and reflection 🌿 Holistic wellness resources for people and animals 🧩 The Soul-Aligned Partnership framework, Elemental Wisdom, and relationship exploration tools 🎁 Free resources, courses, live conversations, and community support If you've ever felt there was something more to your relationship with your animal There’s nothing you need to “do” right away. Just start noticing. ✨ To begin, I’d love to hear from you: What has been the most confusing or challenging part of your relationship with your animal companion lately? (And if you feel called, let me know what kind of animal you share your life with 🐾 and if you are comfortable, share a photo too please 🐾) — If you didn’t leave your email when joining and would like to receive updates or resources as this space grows, feel free to share it with me or send it privately.
What if your animal companion’s behaviour isn’t something to fix — but something to understand?
We often notice the obvious things first. One companion seems to need constant connection. Another needs space. One embraces every new experience with enthusiasm, while another needs time to observe before deciding whether something feels safe. Some seem incredibly sensitive to changes in their environment. Others appear to take almost everything in stride. But why? One of the lenses I use in Moving Beyond Words comes from the Five Elemental Archetypes — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Each reflects different tendencies, strengths, sensitivities and needs. And here’s where it gets especially interesting… You have an Elemental nature too. So understanding your companion is only part of the picture. When we begin looking at both sides of the relationship, we can start noticing where our natural tendencies complement each other — and where they may sometimes create misunderstanding or tension. You may already have an idea which Element sounds like your companion. Or you may be completely surprised. 😊 I’ve added a resource in the classroom where you can explore the Elemental Archetypes, learn a little more about this approach, and then — when you’re curious enough — discover both your Element and your companion’s through the Guardian and Companion quizzes. Because the quiz isn't really the destination. It's a starting point for looking at your relationship through a different lens. 👉 Explore the Elemental Archetypes and discover your starting point here: Take the Elemental Quiz 🐾 - Take the Elemental Companion QUIZ! · Moving Beyond Words And when you do take the quizzes, come back and tell us:

🐾 FREE EVENT: Caring for the Caregiver — A Gentle Reset
You spend so much time holding space for them. Who is holding space for you? 🐾 FREE EVENT: Caring for the Caregiver — A Gentle Reset If you spend much of your time caring for others — people, animals, clients, family — it can be very easy to forget that you need care too. I’m hosting Caring for the Caregiver, a gentle guided session designed to help caregivers release some of the stress they’ve been carrying and reconnect with a greater sense of calm and grounding. We’ll use simple breathing, grounding and tapping techniques to help settle the nervous system, release some of the emotional weight of caregiving, and create a little space for you. This is especially close to my heart because so much of my work explores the connection between our own wellbeing and the wellbeing of those we care for — including our animal companions. When we create more calm within ourselves, that shift can ripple outward. 💛 This is for you if you give a lot of yourself to others and could use some time to refill your own cup. No experience with tapping is needed. Just come as you are. 👉 Click the calendar link and set this time aside... you deserve it! https://www.skool.com/live/wSYBQ3LqFL8
