One of the qualities of a true minstrel is stability. You can place a minstrel on a team with strong personalities, different opinions, and even volatile people—and instead of adding to the tension, they instinctively look for ways to bring peace. Why? Because a minstrel isn’t just someone who has learned to play well. A minstrel is someone who has learned to surrender well. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” — Matthew 5:9 NLT When your ego is surrendered, you don’t have to win every argument. When your pride is surrendered, you don’t have to prove you’re the best musician in the room. When your preferences are surrendered, you can ask a better question: “What does this team need from me right now?” Sometimes it’s your gift. Sometimes it’s your leadership. Sometimes it’s your restraint. Sometimes it’s simply your peace. A minstrel doesn’t just bring sound into the room—they bring stability. TODAY’S CHALLENGE: Wherever you serve today, don’t just ask, “How can I play well?” Ask, “How can I make this team stronger because I’m here?” That’s minstrelship.
