🌳 Want to Plant a Tree Without Upgrading?
You absolutely can! 💚 If you'd love to be part of the tree planting at Khemeia Valley but don't want to upgrade your community membership, you can plant a tree as a one-off through our website. Your tree becomes part of the native forest we're restoring here at Khemeia Valley and a living legacy that will continue growing for years to come. 🌱 You can also make a one-off donation to support our wider regeneration work, including pest management, tree care, propagation and maintaining access ways. 🌿 Plant your legacy at My Tree Legacy Every contribution, big or small, helps us continue regenerating land and life. 💚

🌿 You're Invited: A 10-Week Nature Connection Journey
On Monday 17th August, we'll be beginning a gentle 10-week journey back to nature, and we'd love for you to join us. 🏙️ And don't worry if you live in the middle of a city or don't have access to forests or nature trails. This journey is about your relationship with nature, not your location. You can do the activities with a single tree on your street, a local park, a houseplant, the view from your window, a picture on your wall, or even by working with the scents of nature through essential oils. We'll meet you wherever you are. Each week I will share a simple guided activity inspired by forest bathing, along with journal prompts, an intention for the week, and a space to reflect together in our community. Whether you're surrounded by native bush or living in the middle of a city, this journey is designed to help you build a deeper relationship with the natural world—right where you are. There are no deadlines, no pressure, and no experience needed. Just a willingness to slow down, observe, and see what begins to change when you spend a little intentional time with nature each week. 🌱 As a little thank you for walking the journey with us, everyone who joins in by sharing their reflections in each of the ten week's community prompts, they will go into the draw to win one of three native trees. We'll plant your tree here at Khemeia Valley on your behalf, geo tag it, send you information, photos, and a video about your tree as we help you begin your own living legacy and become part of the regeneration of this special place. If you've been longing to reconnect—with yourself, with nature, or simply with a slower way of being—we'd love to have you with us. When the journey begins, are you going to join us? 🌿 PHOTO: My two wildlings are often found lying under their favourite Ponga tree fern 💚

🌿 Welcome to Khemeia Valley 🌿
As you have explored through this community, you've probably noticed us mentioning Khemeia Valley. Incase you are wondering where/what this place is, we thought it was time to properly introduce you. 🌿 Khemeia Valley is our home. It's where our family of four lives in a fully off-grid rammed earth home, nestled among the hills of Hikurangi in Northland, New Zealand. Our children are homeschooled here, we grow food, care for the land, and spend our days learning from the forests, rivers, wildlife and changing seasons that surround us. But Khemeia Valley is much more than the place we live. It is the heart of My Tree Legacy, it is the land that we are regenerating alongside ourselves. 🌿 Why "Khemeia"? The word Khemeia comes from the Greek word for Alchemy. Alchemy is often thought of as transforming one thing into another. For us, Khemeia Valley represents something much deeper. It is a place that gently invites transformation. A place that has an incredible capacity to hold space for change—not only within the land itself, but within the people who spend time here. We've discovered that as the land heals...something inside us begins to heal too. 🌿 A Landscape Finding Its Way Home When we first arrived, Khemeia Valley was a tired beef farm. Many areas had been heavily grazed for decades. There were very few birds. Large parts of the landscape were degraded. Some areas had no trees at all. The land felt exhausted. Over the past four years we've begun a different journey. We've removed all the livestock. Planted more than 22,000 native trees. Protected waterways. Carried out extensive pest management. Learned to work alongside nature rather than against it. Slowly...the land has begun to respond. Today we wake to a chorus of native birds each morning. At night we hear the calls of our resident kiwi and ruru echoing through the valley. Every season reminds us that regeneration is possible. Not overnight. But one small step at a time. 🌿 A Living Classroom Khemeia Valley is where almost everything we share in this community begins.
