I have another confession: it's Saturday night and after such a disappointing Springboks game against the All Blacks, I decided to take out my spider and paint. And you know what, I'm still at the table, hunched over a piece of paper, waiting for paint to dry before I start the next step. I drew her from scratch - every leg, every web line, every little gold joint, and I genuinely lost track of time. There's something about mixing colours and watching an image slowly come to life that just switches my brain off in the best way. I find it so calming. And somewhere between the third and fourth leg, I thought: I promised to do this with you guys. So, I'm officially announcing our first Paint Fest. 🎨 A live, online, come-as-you-are painting session where we all pick up a brush together, learn a bit, laugh a bit, and create something that's ours. I don't want to dump a big materials list on you tonight and overwhelm you before we've even started — so over the next few weeks I'll be sharing simple posts on exactly what to buy, where I got mine, and what it costs (paintbrushes, acrylic paints, a palette, and mixed media paper work beautifully - A3 is my preferred size). Cheaper options are easy to find too, so keep an eye out. For now, just know it's coming, and nothing fancy is needed to start. Right now, I just want to know one thing: what would YOU like to do at our first Paint Fest? Vote for your favourite, or if you're torn, tell me why in the comments. Once I've got a feel for what excites you most, I'll pop up a separate poll to nail down the best date and time for everyone. 💛 Watch this space over the next few weeks for the spider update, materials tips, and our first Paint Fest date, all coming your way. Vote in the poll below for what you'd like our first Paint Fest to be, and keep an eye out for buying tips & a date/time poll in the coming weeks. 🕷️🎨
