I've got a tradeline set to post in the next couple weeks. Before that happens I pulled all three reports and the personal info section is a mess: - Name — three different versions of it (one misspelled, one with my middle initial, one without) - Addresses — 1 old one listed - Employers — Same job, different name combinations. My thinking is I should get all that scrubbed down to just my current legal name, current address, and current employer before the tradeline hits, so it reports to me cleanly and doesn't end up matching wrong. But I don't actually know if that's a real concern or if I'm overthinking it. So a few questions for anyone who's done this: 1. Does messy personal info actually mess with a tradeline posting or matching correctly, or does it not matter? 2. If it does matter — do you clean it up first and wait for it to clear, or can you do both at the same time? 3. What's actually worked for you to get old addresses and employers off? Online dispute, mail, or calling the bureau? 4. Anything I should leave alone? I've heard stripping it down too far can backfire when a lender goes to verify you're you. Appreciate any input. Rather ask the dumb question now than screw this up after the fact.
