I have had a member ask me about how the position of a card changes the meaning in a reading. Here is a very simple example using a 3 card reading, looking (left to right) at past - present - future answer to a question
In the first example the position of The Tower card indicates there were some dramatic changes in the querents past. In the present position the Seven of Wands indicates the person is still struggling to get others to agree to his/her way of accomplishing the task at hand. In the future position the Two of Cups sees the struggle ending in a mutual and agreeable partnership
Now in the second example it is almost a reverse beginning and final outcome. What was once a good partnership now sees a time when the involved parties are struggling with the "how to's" of getting things accomplished. The end result? The whole thing falls apart, resulting in what's going to be some major changes
So when you are doing a reading it clearly matters where a card shows up in a reading. The same card can have different meanings
