October marks the last Harvest of the Season, "The Blood Harvest", also known as "The Winter Slaughter". This time of year excess livestock would be slaughtered and the meat preserved to feed everyone through the winter. This is why the Full Moon in October has become known as "The Blood Moon". It makes sense then, that at Samhain the veil between the worlds of the living and dead is thin. Our Theme and Focus for October is: Samhain Ancestors Divination Psychopomps and Hierophants ... oh my! We'll be talking about our family histories and Ancestors we feel connected to, exploring different types of Divination, the history of Seances and experimenting first hand with Automatic Writing. Then, we'll share supersitions, and traditional Omens, wrapping the month up with discussions on The Death and Hierphant cards in the Tarot, as well as Hierophant and Psychopomp Archetypes and their rolls in mythology. And don't forget our Samhain Sabbat Walk in the park. Make sure you keep an eye on the Calendar for what's happening and when!
