Retail or hospital: where do you see yourself first?
Quick one for your midday break. Retail and hospital pharmacy are both great places to start, but they feel really different on a busy afternoon. Retail is fast and customer-facing, with lots of insurance calls and drive-thru. Hospital is more behind the scenes: cart fills, IV room work, and floor deliveries. Neither one is the "right" answer, and plenty of techs start in one and move to the other later. So tell me below: if you could pick your first (or next) bench tomorrow, would it be retail or hospital, and why? If you've worked both, what surprised you most?

15 minutes a day beats one 2-hour cram
Cramming feels productive. It mostly isn't. Try this for the next 4 days: 15 minutes a day, one topic area, and end every session by writing down the one thing you missed. Start the next day by re-doing that miss before anything new. Small, repeated reps are how drug names, math steps, and law details actually stick. Drop your answer below: which topic area are you on this week? Meds, Federal Requirements, Patient Safety, or Order Entry & Processing?

Retail to hospital: 4 retail skills that actually transfer
Thinking about moving from retail to hospital? You're probably bringing more than you think. Hospital tech postings often ask for things retail already trains: 1. Inventory + ordering → par levels and automated cabinet restocking 2. NDC + strength checks at fill → unit-dose and cart-fill accuracy 3. Insurance rejections + phone problem-solving → working the queue with nurses and pharmacists 4. Controlled-substance counts → C-II vault and documentation habits Quick move: pull up one real hospital posting near you, pick the 2 skills that match it, and write one sentence each: "In retail, I ___, which maps to ___." That's your resume bullet and your interview answer. Every posting is different (some want sterile compounding or a specific credential), so read the requirements line by line. The First Job Accelerator in the Classroom walks through this, and Study Hall is tonight 7–7:45 PM CT if you want to work through yours live. 👇 Drop your answer: which retail skill are you leaning on — Inventory, Accuracy checks, Problem-solving, or C-II counts? Add Retail-now or Hospital-now.
