The tiny animal louder than a jet engine
A tiny shrimp creates one of the ocean’s loudest sounds.Pistol shrimp are less than 2 inches long, but they pack quite a punch. Alpheidae, as they’re also known, have an oversized claw that the tiny crustaceans snap so quickly it shoots a bulletlike jet of water at their prey. That “shot” travels at a speed of up to 60 miles per hour and clocks in at 210 decibels — louder than an actual pistol (165 decibels), fireworks (140 decibels), and a jet engine (130 decibels).

A Story About A Man & A Stroke
An elderly man has been to the hospital after a mild stroke (when blood flow to part of the brain is blocked or a blood vessel in the brain bleeds). He is fortunate. There has not been a lot of damage to his brain, and he is still walking and talking, but the left side of his body is weak. The doctor prescribes a blood thinner (a medicine that helps keep blood clots from forming) to prevent a recurrent or bigger stroke. The bottle gives the drug's name, the strength, and the dose. The man has been taking ASA (acetylsalicylic acid, also known as aspirin) for many years to help prevent stroke and heart attack, but a stroke did happen. The man goes home and adds the blood thinner to his daily medications. 🔍 Can you spot the problem in this story? If so, tell me below! 👇 Ask Lynne's Health Exchange - more voices - better health literacy!
