Burnout vs Misalignment
Ya’ll this is something people always get wrong. Burnout and misalignment are related, but they are not the same thing. Many people mistake one for the other because they can feel similar. Burnout sounds like: “I’m exhausted.” “I can’t keep up.” “I need a break.” “Everything feels overwhelming.” A vacation or lighter workload often provides noticeable relief, even if only temporarily. Misalignment sounds like: “I don’t know who I’m becoming anymore.” “This isn’t me.” “I should be grateful, but I’m not fulfilled.” “I’ve succeeded at something I no longer want.” You can take a three-week vacation, come back on Monday, and by Tuesday you’re wondering, “Why am I still here?” Here’s where people get confused Misalignment often creates burnout. Imagine a woman who spends years saying yes, meeting expectations, climbing the ladder, and being the reliable one. She eventually becomes exhausted. She assumes the problem is burnout. She rests. The exhaustion improves. But the emptiness doesn’t. That’s because the real issue wasn’t just overwork. She had outgrown the identity she built her career around. A simple way to tell the difference Ask yourself: If I had unlimited energy tomorrow, would I still want this life? → If your answer is yes, you’re probably dealing primarily with burnout. →If your answer is no, you’re probably experiencing misalignment. →If your answer is “I don’t know anymore,” you’re likely dealing with both. This distinction sits at the heart of the work I do with women who are questioning their careers. Before we discuss a pivot, a business, or an exit plan, we first identify what actually needs to change. If unlimited energy would not make you want your current life, the problem may not be your capacity. It may be your direction. Which one are you drowning in right now?

How do you know when it’s time to PIVOT? (Hint: It’s not just burnout)
Someone asked a powerful question: How do you really know when it's time to pivot in your career or your life? It’s a question so many of us wrestle with. We're taught to power through, to be resilient. But resilience isn't about enduring a life that no longer fits. While burnout is the big, flashing red light on the dashboard, there are quieter, more subtle signals that a PIVOT is calling you. Here are 5 signs it might be time for a change (that aren't just burnout): 1. The "Sunday Night Dread" is now the "Every Night Dread." You used to just feel anxious on Sunday. Now, you feel a low-grade sense of dread or "meh" most evenings. The thought of logging on tomorrow doesn't spark anger or sadness, just a profound sense of... nothing. This emotional flatlining is a huge sign your spirit has left the building, even if your body is still showing up. 2. You've Started "Curiosity-Googling." You find yourself opening a browser tab and searching for things like: - "how to start a pottery business" - "french immersion courses in Quebec" - "salary for a nonprofit director" - These aren't focused job searches; they are daydreams with a search bar. It's your subconscious mind trying on different lives because it's bored with the current one. - 3. You're Envious of Other People's "Mundane" Problems. You hear a friend complaining about the stress of re-launching her website or the chaos of managing a new team, and a part of you thinks, "I wish I had those problems." You're not envious of their success; you're envious of their engagement. They are actively building something. You are just maintaining. 4. The Compliments Feel Empty. You get praised at work for being "so reliable" or "the only one who knows how this works." Instead of feeling proud, you feel trapped. The praise isn't for your brilliance, creativity, or growth—it's for your ability to maintain a system you secretly want to escape. You are being rewarded for staying the same. 5. Your Body Knows Before Your Brain Does.

My $7500 Business Mistake
I want to tell you about the most expensive mistake I ever made in my business. I spent $7,500 on a funnel. Not a template. A fully custom funnel, built by professionals. Opt-in page, tripwire, upsell, downsell, seven-email sequence. Every piece in place. The kind of setup the gurus say separates amateurs from real businesses. I was convinced this was the missing piece. That once I had the perfect system, everything would click. The clients would come. The revenue would follow. I would finally feel like a real business owner. I launched it. And nothing happened. Actually, worse than nothing. A few people opted in. Nobody bought. The beautiful automated emails landed in inboxes and got deleted. The funnel sat there, technically perfect, doing absolutely nothing. It took me six more months to understand why. The funnel was not the problem. I was the problem. Not because I did something wrong. Because I was using the funnel to avoid doing the hard thing. I was trying to buy my way past the discomfort of showing up, being seen, and selling myself. I thought the right system would let me bypass the messy human part of building a business. It does not work that way. I have learned that there is a pattern I see over and over. I call it the Preparation Trap. It is the belief that researching, organizing, and buying are the same as building. They are not. One feels like progress. The other actually is. I recorded a video breaking all of this down. If you have ever bought a course you did not finish, invested in a tool you never used, or felt the shame of knowing you have everything you need and still not moving, this one is for you. Check it out and let me know if this resonates.
