Welcome everyone to Silly Goose Speaks. My name is Izzy. I have a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from SIU Carbondale and upon graduation I completed a fellowship at one of the top 25 community colleges in the country, teaching Speech 101. Communication skills are BY FAR the most valuable asset that you can have in both your professional and personal life. Communication is weaved into every single action you take so learning the HOW behind communication will change your entire outlook on life.
In this course, we will discuss the speechwriting process (yes, it is different than your standard writing), editing and delivery of your speech, there will be weekly activities, and you will leave with a speech ready to perform. I will encourage you throughout this course to find somewhere to share your story whether that be on social media or a secret potential opportunity at the end of the 8-week course.
But before we start, I just want you to know that I believe in you. You can do it.
