How can fearing the Lord be implemented in your life today? Part 3
Happy Friday! I've taken different words from the 10 verses and created a guide to how you can apply them in your life today to live a God fearing life! Below are the words, their meaning/context and how to practically apply it to your day/life. I didn't get through all of them in the devotion this morning so this is the full list Reverently- respect, honor, holy awe of God. It is a humble heart posture that recognizes God’s supreme power, majesty, and holiness, leading a person to obey and worship Him rather than treating Him with casual familiarity. Practical application: changes the way you live. Obeying God, turning from sin, controlling speech. Good understanding- ability to understand that wisdom comes from God. Knowing right from wrong and living it out. Practical application: Act on what God wants. Read and meditate in scripture Teachable heart- willing to accept Gods correction, receive Gods truth Practical application: listening first. Humility, receiving correction as opportunity for wisdom and not insult. Delight: deep satisfaction. Supreme joy. Practical application: meditating on the Word. Choosing worship or praise music. Watching and listening to things that align with Gods desire for you. Lives- to walk in alignment with Gods will and plan for your life. practical application: live in service to others. Grow in fruits of the spirit so you can love others the way God loves you. Preeminent- the starting point. The very point it grows from. Practical application: take a step in faith. Try something new. Perverted mouth- dishonest, twisting of truth, gossip, slander, creates trouble and corrupt talk. Practical application: speak words that are true, helpful, inspiring, necessary and kind. T.H.I.N.K! Walk away when others are gossiping or using language that is foul. Strong confidence- unshakable sense of safety and identity. Practical application: speak Gods Word over yourself. Replace negative thoughts with encouraging scripture.

Understanding what is mean to "fear the Lord" Part 2

Understanding what is mean to "fear the Lord" Part 2
Things may look right, they may sound right but they are only temporary.
Proverbs 16: 1-4,25 So many things in society seem right. The words that came from the person you were dating sounded so right. But the longer you stayed in those things you realized your faith and relationship with God became less important to you. Sin doesn't have to be blatant, obvious, malicious, or filled with raw emotion. It can be quiet. It can be disguised as something that feels and looks good. It can look like the road that God has for you... including things like marriage, family... but one thing is missing.... God. I look back on my own life and see where I went wrong so many times in life. My performance at work, the relationships i was in, the way I interacted with my family.... People will call it immaturity... and part of that may be it... but the biggest part for me was trusting my own ways, thoughts and desires. When I surrendered my works to Him, things started to change in my life. I became disciplined in church. I handled my money better and stayed in the same house for 6 years. I found my husband... (lets be honest, he found me, at church) I started my business that had been on my heart for 10+ years. I live securely in my mind and in my heart.
Things may look right, they may sound right but they are only temporary.
