Anyone here guilty of putting yourself on the backburner? In my mid to late thirties, I was eager to prove myself at my new-ish job as our company expanded, and meanwhile, I completely forgot about me. I had to visit a hospital to get extensive tests done to figure out why I was shattered every day.
It turned out to be really low levels of vitamin C (and D), and it helped me realize that 1, supplements are vital, and 2, I had to pay attention to my health. It’s all well and good if I’m doing great at work, BUT if I physically can’t keep up? No matter if we think our career, our family, etc. comes before health… well, what happens when our body breaks down? We cannot work. Our family have to support us, and we can become a burden to them?
So, there was my lesson. It’s my responsibility to maintain my ‘temple,’ my health. Family and career benefit when I show up with vitality, focus, and strength.
