Good morning, family. As we step into October, I have been thinking about something my own community taught me without ever saying it out loud: some struggles are kept in the house. We smile at church, we say we are fine at the market, and we carry the heavy things quietly. I understand that. Many of us come from people who survived hard things by staying strong and staying private. That strength is part of our inheritance, and I honor it. But our children need something more from us now. They need us to be brave enough to talk about their minds and their hearts, not only their grades and their behavior. So this month, we are going there, gently and together. October 6 Live: More Than Their Wiring. Neurodivergence and our children's mental health. October 10: World Mental Health Day. A day for you, not only your child. October 20 Live: The Conversation We Were Taught Not to Have. Suicide, safety, and our neurodivergent children. I know that last one may make your chest tighten a little. That is okay. I will hold that space with great care, and it will be a night about protection and hope. You can come, or you can watch the replay when you are ready. Both are okay. A few things I ask of us this month: - Share only what feels right. Your story belongs to you. - Hold each other's stories with the same care you want for your own. - Remember that this community is here to learn and to belong. It is not a crisis service. The support numbers are pinned at the top of the community for you and your family, any time. October is ADHD Awareness Month, too. Watch for our posts on that this month. Thank you for being here. Thank you for choosing to understand. With love, Dr. KC
