You do not have to be a professional dancer to train for longevity. If dance is something you love, the goal is not to spend every free hour stretching, lifting, taking class, or drilling technique. The goal is to support your body well enough that you can keep dancing for as long as possible. That means paying attention to things like strength, mobility, flexibility, nourishment, technique, recovery, musicality, and how your body is changing as you get older. Not perfectly. Not all at once. And definitely not at the expense of the rest of your life. But consistently enough that your body can keep saying yes to dance. So the question is: Are you giving your body what it needs to keep dancing for the next 10, 20, or 30 years? Because for adult dancers, longevity is the win.
