Happy Fri-YAY!
It’s Friday, which means we are not just sliding into the weekend pretending nothing happened this week. I officially opened this community this week and have my first founding members!!
Happy Fri-YAY!
Stop chasing the next shiny thing. Your second act is already in your hands.
Every week there's a new "next big thing." AI side hustles. Dropshipping. Faceless YouTube. Some new platform everyone swears is the gold rush. And every week, smart, capable people drop what they know to chase it. Here's what I've come to believe: the easiest path to a second act career isn't out there in the latest trend. It's already built into the experience you have. Think about it. You've spent years, maybe decades, solving problems, learning an industry, handling people, making mistakes, and figuring out what actually works. That's not a résumé line. That's an asset most people starting from scratch would pay for. When you chase a trend, you start at zero, competing with thousands of people who got there first. When you build on your experience, you start with a head start nobody can copy. A few questions worth sitting with: - What do people already come to you for advice about? - What problems have you solved so many times they feel obvious to you, but not to others? - What do you know now that you wish someone had told you 10 years ago? The answers to those questions are usually where your second act is hiding. Trends come and go. Your experience compounds. So here's my question for you: **What's one thing from your career or life experience that you've been underestimating?** Drop it in the comments. I'd love to help you see it.

Your Strategy Should Be Authentic First
Authenticity is not a personality. It is a strategy, and it has to come first. Most professionals in a second act do the reverse. They pick a format, a posting rhythm, or a niche label, then try to sound like themselves inside it. The work comes out polished and slightly false. The people who would hire you can hear that. They have sat through enough presentations. Start with the sentence only you can say. One problem you have handled more than once. One judgment call you would still make. One thing you will not pretend. Record or write from that, before you worry about the thumbnail, the hook, or the offer. Authentic first does not mean unedited. It means the edit serves the truth instead of sanding it down. Cut the preamble. Keep the specific. Leave in the part where you were wrong the first time. That is the material a serious person trusts. The strategy is simple. If a former colleague would recognize the story, publish it. If it could have been written by anyone with a course, do not. The channel, the posts, and the practice all get clearer once that filter is in place. What is one thing you know from the work that you have been softening so it will sound more acceptable?

What's Your Thing?
Most people in here don’t have a skill problem. They have a naming problem. You’ve spent 20 or 30 years getting good at something. People already ask you for answers. Then someone says, “So what do you do now?” and the sentence falls apart. Too broad. Too modest. Or it still sounds like the job you left. That sentence is the offer. If you can’t say it, nobody can buy it.
