i love the sun. i don’t think we need to treat it like the enemy. sunlight plays an important role in vitamin d production, our circadian rhythm + simply getting outside is good for us. but there’s an important distinction between getting outside + deliberately exposing unprotected skin to high uv. here in australia, the thing i’d encourage you to pay attention to isn’t just whether it’s sunny, hot or whether you’re “only popping outside”. check the uv index. when it’s 3+, sun protection is recommended — sunscreen, clothing, hat + shade. when it’s below 3, sunscreen generally isn’t necessary for normal day-to-day outdoor activity. know the uv. respect the sun. protect yourself when you need to. + enjoy being outside. ☀️
