Correction on yesterday's post
I got the Skool part wrong on yesterday's post. Skool runs its own payment system through Stripe (Skool's Payments FAQ), so Apple and Google aren't taking a cut of your membership. Their app store fees are real for apps that use their checkout. Skool just isn't one of them, and I connected dots that didn't connect, but it is worth knowing for other apps you may use.
But a few of you mentioned referrals going missing, and that part is worth knowing about. As one of our members pointed out, Skool takes a 30% commission through Growth Boost when it brings in a paying member. So if someone finds a group through the Discovery page instead of your link, Skool gets the credit, not you. So the advice still stands: if a friend referred you, use their link instead of finding the group through Discovery. Click the link and join directly. Skool credits the last referral link you clicked, so if you click someone else's link or find the group through Discovery afterward, the credit can go to them instead.
Thank you for pushing on this.
