Last night reminded me how difficult it can be to rest when my mind is searching for answers that simply aren’t available yet. Underneath all the thoughts were uncertainty and frustration. I wanted to know how certain things would turn out, and I wanted a sense of clarity that I didn’t have. The more I tried to work everything out in my head, the harder it became to relax. My body was ready for rest, but my mind felt like it still had work to do. Looking back this morning, I realize that not everything needs to be solved in the moment. Some things require time, patience, and space before they become clear. Even though I woke up tired, I can still find gratitude in the night. I’m grateful that I eventually fell asleep. I’m grateful for the people, places, and routines that give me a sense of comfort and stability. And I’m grateful that today gives me another opportunity to work through what was weighing on me. Maybe the lesson for me is that uncertainty doesn’t always require an immediate answer. Sometimes I can simply acknowledge what I’m feeling, allow the questions to remain unanswered for a while, and trust that I can return to them when I’m rested and better able to see things clearly. I don’t have to figure everything out at night. Some things can wait for the morning. I don’t need all the answers today; I only need to trust the next step.
