Pull up a chair as we visit the world's Blue Zones, sharing meals, stories, and simple traditions that remind us how food, movement, connection, and joy can nourish a life well lived.

Kakavia: A Fisherman's Tradition One of the things I love most about Mediterranean living is the simplicity of the food. Fresh ingredients, prepared with care, shared with people you love. Kakavia is a traditional Greek fisherman's stew and one of my favorite meals to make. It's nourishing, flavorful, and reminds us that some of the best meals begin with simple ingredients and good company.

This morning I looked at a loaf of store-bought bread and counted 23 ingredients. It got me thinking about how bread has been feeding families for thousands of years with just flour, water, yeast, and salt...

What do people in the Mediterranean and Blue Zones actually eat? Again and again, one humble food appears on their tables: BEANS. From Greek butter beans to hearty lentil soups and chickpea dishes, beans have nourished families for generations. In this module, we'll explore why these simple foods have stood the test of time, discover Mediterranean traditions, and share practical recipes you can bring to your own table. Simple food. Extraordinary nutrition.

Many of us have heard the advice: "Drink more water." While water is wonderful, it isn't the only way to stay hydrated. My husband, Herb, doesn't care much for plain water. As a nurse, my instinct is to remind him why he should drink more of it. But I've learned that if I simply leave a pitcher of cold tea in the refrigerator, it somehow disappears. Sometimes the healthiest changes aren't the ones we force—they're the ones we make inviting.❤️Jo

For years, dessert was my biggest challenge. Then I discovered something surprising: dessert doesn't have to mean cake, cookies, or pie. Across the Mediterranean, people have been enjoying naturally sweet foods for generations—especially fruit. In this lesson, we'll explore how cultures from Greece to Italy turn simple, seasonal fruit into satisfying treats that bring joy to the table. As always, life came first—and health followed.

Let's take a morning walk to the fish market. We'll chat with the fishermen, discover what's fresh today, and bring home simple ideas for delicious Mediterranean-inspired meals. No complicated recipes or fancy techniques—just fresh ingredients, easy meals, and a little inspiration from the sea. Come with me...I think the fish market is just opening. 🐟
