Hey everyone, I'm sorry I've been a bit quiet these last days. I was on a roll there but I am now dealing with a lot of extra symptoms of my medication for the management of my adema and lymphadenopathy due to the stupid and annoying Lymphoma. 😑 The meds are harsh. It's a steroid, Prednisone, and then a loop diuretic, Lasix. They both mess heavily with potassium levels, sodium and electrolytes for hydration. I have to constantly compensate through food and drinking a controlled amount of liquids. Zeco coconut water is my go to. No added sugar so it's lower in carbs which I also control around 60g, Over 900mg of potassium in a much smaller amount of liquid than if I were to drink Gatorade zero for example. I'd have to have 4 bottles to equal the same in that one small coconut water 🥥 💧. 15g carbs per 11.2 ounce bottle. Another good source of potassium are avocados 🥑, potatoes 🥔, and bananas 🍌! I've had to do my homework so I'm sharing these facts and maybe they could be important to know one day! And this counts as a holistic approach to my dietary needs and medication regulation. The average person doesnt do this kind of research on their own conditions. They trust the doc and only the doc and rack up thousands in bills. Ive been very proactive about this. I want full and total control of my body. I know it well, been in it for 44 years! Anyway, all this has made my life very difficult because not only do I deal with that, but I have to now deal with the joyous fun of withdrawal symptoms as I am at the last of my prescription and the symptoms are not fun at all. Fatigue, this burning skin sensation, weakness, mild but annoyingly persistent headaches, muscle aches all over. It's awful. The weakness part is the worst part. I can handle pain any day but weakness.. no. This makes me mad. It really does. I have too many major troubles to solve to deal with this right at the moment but they are all coinciding. I am doing my best to manage it all. I'm also home-schooling my daughters until we move to Arkansas. So, the pressure is on! I think I work best under pressure. It "lights a fire under my ass" if you will!
