SKILL 4 REPLAY: REFOCUS AROUND DISTRACTIONS 🐾
First up… THE WILD DOGS ARE ON THE BOARD! 🙌🏻🔥 Huge congratulations to @Zali Nagle and Marlo for taking out Skill 3: The Down! Bloody stoked with your effort, guys. The comeback is on! Jackals, don’t get too comfortable 😉🐕 In today’s live, we chatted about taking these skills into real life and helping your dog reconnect with you when there’s something more exciting happening nearby. 🐾 Starting too close: Give your dog enough space to process the distraction and still respond to you. 🐾 The world changing your setup: Dogs approach, people appear and distractions move. It’s okay to walk away, create space and reset. A harder session doesn’t erase your progress. If your dog is struggling, make the next rep easier and build from there 💪🏻 Watch the replay and drop your questions, wins or sticking points below. That’s what this community is here for! 🤍

THE SPRING CHALLENGE 📢 IS HERE.
On Saturday 31 October, we’re walking the Blue Mile together and finishing at Diggies for coffee, with our dogs settled calmly under the tables. That’s the finish line. Getting there takes six weeks, six skills and six rounds, starting Monday 14 September. But we decided that simply helping everyone build better dogs wasn’t quite competitive enough... So we’re putting something far more important on the line. 🔥 NATH vs MATT. 🔥 Bragging rights. And unfortunately for one of us, there will be witnesses. When you commit, you’ll be randomly drafted into one of two packs: 🐺 THE WILD DOGS with Nath 🦊 THE JACKALS with Matt You don’t choose your pack. You can’t swap. And once you’re drafted, you're no longer on your own. But this isn’t just you training your dog and sending in homework. Your Pack Leader is in this too. Nath and Matt will be coaching, competing, stirring each other up and doing everything legally permitted under Walkys law to make sure their pack walks into Diggies as champions. So yes, you’re working on your dog. Yes, you’re working with your pack. But you’re also carrying the hopes, dreams and incredibly fragile ego of your Pack Leader. No pressure. 😂 HERE’S HOW THE SIX WEEKS WORK. Every Sunday night, a new level drops as an online course for you to work through. Every Monday evening, your Pack Leader goes LIVE in Skool to break down the week’s challenge, answer questions and get the pack ready to earn that point. Then your private pack WhatsApp group takes over. Questions. Videos. Training. Struggles. Wins...... Trash talk. And when someone posts at 9pm on a Tuesday night because their dog just nailed something they couldn’t do a week ago, the whole pack piles on. Then Friday comes. 🏆 ONE DOG + HUMAN TEAM WINS THE WEEK. They take home a prize from Drifter Dog Gear and, more importantly, put a point on the board for their pack. Six rounds. Six chances to score. And on Halloween, one pack walks into Diggies knowing they won the 2026 Walkys Spring Challenge.

SKILL 4: REFOCUS AROUND DISTRACTIONS
Earlier this week and up until now, handling Max around distractions felt completely unmanageable. He has constantly scanned his environment and overreacted to distractions, which has been upsetting and distressing to see. But through sticking to the training, advice and guidance with persistence and consistency, he has turned a massive corner over the last two days! We have had big wins just alone this week. He showed excellent door manners at the front door, the gate and getting into the car. He displayed beautiful, calm behavior during our waiting period before transitioning into the park. Once we got into the park, I was blown away with how he handled the distractions, he handled it like an absolute boss! This was an incredible improvement for Max. His focus on me was incredible compared to earlier in the week. We know we still have a lot of work to do especially in this area with our threshold work in public spaces but this breakthrough proved to me that the hard work is paying off and he will get there. Super proud of my boy ❤️🐕 GO WILD DOGS! 🐕❤️ @Loma Simmons

Week 4 working at a distance around distractions
This is a big one for Maizie as she is sensative to noise & other triggers in the big scary world. I also struggle to help her through these moments but with the brilliant guidance of our tremendous trainers we are slowly seeing improvements, both of us. Lol. 🤣It's a work in progress for both of us but I'm determined & will constantly work on my patience, calmness & slow down more for my girl, thanks @Matthew Marsh This week we only did 3 sessions & our first session in one of the videos, shows a good example of how reactive she can be barking at strangers waking by. Over the week at the right distance & less distractions it shows how she handles herself much better. So we're happy with our progress & understand (thanks to @Nath Morrison ) it must go at the pace necessary for us to work best in. Happy Friday peeps. Goooo Wild Dogs. 👊💜😊 @Loma Simmons 💜😊
