New here, and excited
Hi everyone, my name is Irene, and I’m from South Africa. I’m 55 and really excited to be part of this group.
I’m not completely new to technology or AI. I started my career as a software developer and worked as a developer for about 10 years, although that was more than 25 years ago! I stayed in the technology space and currently head the Portfolio Management Office for a large digital transformation programme.
What is new for me is this whole world of building products quickly using AI and no-code tools. I’ve been experimenting quite a bit and have already started building a few products of my own.
One is a longevity and wellness app focused on inflammation, which is about 90% complete. The food information used in the app has also been reviewed by a registered dietitian. I’m currently building another platform for product discovery and comparison, similar in concept to Dupe.com, where users can find comparable products from different retailers. The business model for that one is affiliate marketing.
My biggest challenge is marketing. Because of the nature of my work in government, I prefer not to be the face of my products or build a personal brand around myself. That means I’m especially interested in learning how to grow and market digital products organically, without relying heavily on paid advertising or being on camera.
I’ve been following the content around building apps with AI and no-code tools, and I’m looking forward to learning from everyone here, sharing what I’m building, and hopefully contributing where I can as well.
