Know it Thursday's: Equity
Equity is basically the part of the property that belongs to you. It's what we are all chasing.
Let's say your house is worth $400,000.
You owe the bank $300,000.
You've got roughly $100,000 in equity.
That's your ownership stake.
And this is one reason investors pay attention to rising property values and paying down loans.
Equity can potentially give you options later—selling, refinancing, borrowing against the property, or using the proceeds toward another investment.
Think of it this way:
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 – 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝘄𝗲 = 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆
Learn the language. Understand the numbers. Make better real estate decisions.
