I hear all the time about how much room there is in the pricing of boats. I recently looked at a boat that was interesting. $750k Retail Price, Dealer Discounted to $599k then when the boat sat it dropped to $499k. The boat is still sitting and currently the ask is $419k. So after all that there is a 45% drop from retail and a 31% drop from the dealer discount. My question and looking for comments is, how do the numbers really work between Retail Price, I assume this is the suggested manufacturers price, the dealer discount then the real selling price. Incentives from the manufacture? Financing percentage make up? Whats the math?
