Fresh off my Scotland trip I finally got ahead enough of the return-to-work pile that I made the 10 minute trek out to the Sea of Oologah to check on my boat Celtic Cheer for the first time in about a month. The lochs and inland passageways of Scotland full of sailboats has engulfed my mind over the past week since my return. I have watched nearly 20 hours of a British couple’s YouTube videos aboard their 40 year old boat (4 yrs older than mine 4’ longer). Their circumnavigation of the British isles was what hooked me and now I am 10 episodes into their trip to the arctic. So for an early morning Rotary meeting only a 6 minute drive further to my boat I chose an OOTD with a white RL polo, Nantucket red chinos, red Sperry Topsiders and Pendleton no show socks to check on her. Futzing in the boat I opted for just my Apple Watch to monitor my physical exertion. Working on the boat can be a full workout but since it’s a workday this should be simple. I’ve been on three Alaska cruises and have been enthralled with the waters there. I even have a book in the Saloon of my boat with a section on small boat sailing in Alaska. My ferry trip from Oban to the Isle of Mull was very reminiscent of Alaska The last time I got this itch was 1993 when my wife and I bike camped across Holland and Germany. She is simply shaking her head right now 😎https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26irlKify-c

Very happy for you by friend. I'm heading off to Ireland later this month for an 11-day tour.

Thought for Today
You live out what you believe about yourself whether it’s true or not.

@Dr. Jason Cole Epictetus, the Greek Stoic philosopher, said, “One of the best ways to elevate your character immediately is to find worthy role models to emulate. ”Ask yourself: What traits do you admire in that person — kindness, integrity, resilience, creativity, humility? Identify the specific values and behaviors you want to adopt. In otherwords..."Become the man you admire, and give that person back to the world."
2/9 2 Years Ago Today
G’Day Gents, Today marks the 2-year anniversary of the housefire that ravaged our house, which led to a 9-month long renovation of our abode, and whilst the worst is very much behind us, I still remember that faithful night from time to time, especially on days like today. I have made a few previous posts about this event, however we've had a large influx of new members joining our esteemed group, and I wanted to relay this story in the hopes of inspiring them when the going gets tough, and to showcase that hard work and varying levels of faith, are the key do extinguishing the darkness of sorrow to give way to the light of hope. Knee Replacement Finally Here
Well the time finally came for my knee replacement. Scheduled for 7:00am I arrived at 5:30am for pre-op. The actual surgery only took 40 minutes but I’ll be in the hospital overnight. It’s now 3:30pm as the spinal has been wearing off and even with receiving pain meds the pain is still quite intense. The staff wants to start my PT by getting up and walking and I am trying to gear myself to deal with that as the first step in a long PT recovery. If anyone has dealt with this I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Thank you

I haven't had mine replaced yet...just ACL surgery. However, EVERYONE that I have spoken with who has had a knee replacement were happy their results and glad they decided to have it done. You've got this. Prayers for a quick recovery.
Tan-Taupe-Sage
In late August /early September the autumn woolens arrived ready to be stocked at the stores where I worked. Admittedly I am a far bigger fan of the fall clothes over summer. But Mr Heat Miser isn’t done with us yet here in the central South of the US. So my business casual OOTD consisted of: Brooks Brothers 100% linen plaid sport coat Sage green cotton Pendleton short sleeve shirt Taupe worsted wool trousers Pantherella socks Martin Dingman loafers 1949 Ernest Borel automatic watch I am ready for sweater weather
