I would say 3 things: prioritise, find a substitute addiction and get your head on the pillow. Prioritise. Put you and your recovery first. This means not getting into a state where you say fuck it and pick up a drink/drug. You will have responsibilities, prioritise them. You, your family and work will likely come first. You might have things like taxes, car trouble etc. Decide what is truly important and do that, or outsource it (accountant, family member, plumber) and try to give yourself a break in all other situations. The number one priority is not to pick up a drink or drug. Substitute addiction. Find one or more things that bring you pleasure and fix with them. Smoking, vaping, food, gym, meditation, Netflix binging. We would all love our substitute addiction to be CrossFit and studying but if isn't, don't force it! You have many years of sobriety ahead of you to change those. For now, indulge it what you want and don't worry. Number one priority, don't pick up a drink or drug. Get your head on the pillow. If it comes to 8pm, your bored, anxious, don't feel like doing anything else, go to bed and get another day sober in the bank. Also get some phone numbers you can call when you're lost. There's the AA and NA helpline you can call. In meetings you'll get numbers of fellows to call. You can also pick up the phone not just for recovery. I recently called some for advice for a new job opening. You might have a friend who's a plumber who can give you advice on your dodgy shower so you know how to approach getting it fixed. Stay strong, don't worry about posting impressive wins on here. Just that you got a day sober is the biggest one. I didn't have impressive daily wins for the first couple of years of my sobriety, but I didn't pick up a drink and that's what mattered then.
