Between the Shores - Music Video - Title Theme from Skyglass Drift
Hackathon (FREE) Game Entry - Coming September 30th! Lyrics: [Hook] I have a sail. I have a name. The sky stands still. I cannot stay. [Verse 1] Thirty years of borrowed gold, and every shadow knows its place. I watched a sail go past the sun: the only hand across its face. Below the quay, the broken world lets all the little stars show through. The woman with the chart looks up. I ask her what the currents do. [Chorus] Between the shores, between the stars, the blue runs on beyond the chart. I have a sail. I have a name. The sky stands still. I cannot stay. [Verse 2] She sets a cup beside the page. Its handle points toward empty air. I find my route beneath her hand; I do not ask who should be there. Above the roofs, the brass rings shine. Below, the mooring takes the strain. I know the weight of one small bag. I lift it. Set it down again. [Chorus] Between the shores, between the stars, the blue runs on beyond the chart. I have a sail. I have a name. The sky stands still. I cannot stay. [Bridge] The paper trembles in the air. I take the chart. She leaves her hand there. [Final Chorus] Between the shores, between the stars, the blue runs on beyond the chart. I have a sail. I have a name. The sky stands still. I loose the sail. [Outro] Between the shores. ---

How an Outsider Won Runway's Top AI Prize
The premiere episode of the AIography Podcast is up. I sat down with Robert Gaudette. He's a 54-year-old nonprofit worker from Toronto. He never went to film school. And he just won the top prize at Runway's AI Grand Prix with his film "A Face Only a Mother Could Love." Here's what got me. The film has real heart. It moves people. That's the one thing everyone says AI can't do, and Robert did it anyway. We talked through how he actually built it, start to finish. His workflow. The "subtext block" he puts in his prompts. How he pushed past the imposter feeling that hits all of us. And why he still believes story comes first, even now. If you've been stuck at "where do I even begin," this is the one to watch. Robert started exactly where you are. Link to Interview Link to Robert's film "A Face Only A Mother Could Love." Watch it, then drop one thing that surprised you in the comments.

WOW can't wait to dig into this one @Lawrence Jordan !!!
Special Edition: I recapped all of AI on the Lot 2026 for you
I just spent two days at Amazon/MGM Studios in Culver City at AI on the Lot, the biggest AI filmmaking conference in the world, and I wrote up everything for this week's newsletter. It's a long one, on purpose. Paul Schrader got up and explained how he's writing with ChatGPT now. (Spielberg, in the same week, said there's no substitute for the soul about AI). Studios that wouldn't say "AI" out loud two years ago were on the main stage with their names on the work. And the films aren't hypothetical anymore; they're shipping, and a few are selling. I covered every session I could get to and owned up to the ones I couldn't, since I still can't be in two places at once. Read the full thing here. If you read it, I'd love your take below. What surprised you? What are you going to try?

@Lawrence Jordan "you're nothing without craft" is exactly it! ...the tools got faster; taste didn't get optional! What if AI drags production back to LA instead of hollowing it out? :)

@Lawrence Jordan Love it! How about the idea of melding AI with classical cinematic production ... so local AI work becomes important so they can work directly hand-in-hand with "classic" studios
POLL: Let's Get This Conversation Going!
I’d love to hear from everyone here. As this group continues to grow, I want to make sure we’re building something that is actually useful, practical, and worth your time. So here’s the question: What would you most like to get out of this community? I want your top 3. But Skool only lets you vote once. So please add a comment with your 2nd & 3rd choices. If something's missing, tell me. This community is yours as much as it's mine. I'd rather build what you'll actually use than guess. 😉 Thanks, Larry

1. Full Workflow Breakdown Other than that, I'd like to know which combination of tools can accomplish the best results whether its for cinematic production vs advertisements... etc Industry news would be 3rd choice, but with like a value-add... like highlight the most important things with your perspective on the industry @Lawrence Jordan 🤩
