If your TikTok views have fallen to almost nothing since Sept 2, this is why, and it isn't anything you've done. What we're seeing TikTok has applied an enforcement action to US-based TikTok accounts connected to services that post via API (Sonder being one of them). Affected accounts look completely normal: posts publish, pass review and stay public, with no violations or warnings anywhere. They just get no algorithm distribution at all. The handful of views you're seeing are people visiting your profile. Three things we've pinned down since it started on Sept 2: - It's the account, not the post. Changing your content, captions, sounds or posting time makes no difference, and neither does posting by hand in the TikTok app. - US accounts only. Non-US accounts are completely unaffected. - A fresh account won't dodge it. US accounts connected since Sept 3 are being flagged on arrival. What we recommend Pause your affected US TikTok accounts. Posting to them doesn't help and may hurt, so it's not worth your time until TikTok lifts this. Keep posting everywhere else That's your non-US TikTok accounts, plus Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and Pinterest. Download from Sonder and upload yourself rather than posting through the Sonder connection for peace of mind, but no other company has enforced this. This is caution, not a fix: the accounts affected are ones connected through the API, and until we know how far this reaches we'd rather your other accounts weren't publishing that way. What to do 1. Stop posting to any affected US TikTok account, and don't connect a new one. 2. Keep your other accounts going, posting by hand. It takes about a minute. 3. If you have anything scheduled in Sonder to a US account, reply and we'll cancel it for you. There's no way to do that from your side yet. Posting a slideshow by hand. Open it in My videos and press Download slides. They come down as one .zip, numbered in order, so unzip it and save the pictures to your phone. Press Copy next to the caption and again under the hashtags. Then start a photo post in the app you're using, pick your slides 01 first, and paste the caption in.
