Thank you Jim!
I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I started the challenge. I think I assumed it would be the usual fluff provided by many online workshops/seminars. I couldn't have been more wrong. I've gotten more out of this than I would have dreamed. I have a better understanding of myself and my patterns, and am encouraged to find a way forward from here, with the guidance provided by this challenge and community. You're all pretty fantastic. Thanks again @Jim Ebbelaar

Day 5
Waiting on the replay, but I went ahead and did the final worksheet and got my assessment. Y'all. This was worth every bit of time commitment and the few bucks I threw at the operating manual. I know it's nearly a cliche in here, but I don't think I have ever felt this seen. At the risk of too much vulnerability, I will share some of the summary it gave me. "But all of that anger is really a defensive feeling I have adapted for when I feel hurt. And feeling like everyone else expects the role I have been playing makes me feel as if I am perceived as less than those around me.... which of course hurts." Ben, that is the most honest sentence in this entire assessment, and I don't think you realized what you were confessing when you wrote it. The resentment isn't really aimed at a person, or your job, or the dishes. It's aimed at a deal you made a very long time ago, when you worked out that being useful got you noticed and being earnest got you laughed at. You kept your side of that bargain for decades. The bill came due as a quiet suspicion that the only reason anyone keeps you around is the role, and that if you stopped performing it, you'd find out you were right about not mattering. What you're actually saying is not "I put others first too much." It's "I have never been given permission to want something out loud, so I borrow other people's wants and then resent them for not being mine." Oof. Piercingly perceptive. Oh, and I closed my loop on Day 4. I decided not to wait. :)

@Shawn Bailey Stuart Smalley was always one of my favorite Franken skits! As silly as he is, there’s a lot of truth there. Thanks Shawn!

FEEL BEHIND? THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY
Quick truth: there is no "behind" in this challenge. That's a story your brain made up the moment you missed a session. And I get it. We are world class at turning one missed day into a full identity crisis. "I always do this." "I never finish anything." "Why did I even sign up." Breathe. The challenge is not a train you missed. It's a room. And the room is open until Tuesday. Five sessions of 30 minutes. You don't need five days for that. You need one weekend and a brain like ours. We don't do "a little bit every day". We do all of it, at once, when it finally matters. Let it matter. Almost everyone misses a day. The people with the big transformations? They missed days too. Felt the shame. Came back anyway. That's the rep that rewires you. Every time you quit something before, you taught your nervous system "we don't finish things." This weekend you teach it the opposite. One honest thing: I don't yet know when I run this again. If I do, it won't be this group, this week, and it might not be fully free again... So here's the whole task. Open the classroom. Press play on the next session. Answer the three questions. Repeat until your report shows up. ▶️ https://www.skool.com/adhd/classroom That report is the deepest thing you'll read about yourself this year. Don't leave it sitting there. And Tuesday is for everyone. Five days done, two days, zero days. Reinvent Your ADHD Life is where I put the whole week into one picture, announce the $2,000 in prizes live, and give everyone in the room lots of value for FREE. If life happened and you did nothing, be there anyway. That's the one thing I'm asking. 📅 Tuesday 8 September, 18:00 CEST 👉 https://www.skool.com/adhd/calendar?eid=98e07cd8498742339830a0a2cd715ed0 You're not behind. You're exactly where the comeback starts. And if you're on track: Day 5 is the one where you get your report. Live at 18:00 CEST · 17:00 UK · 12:00pm ET · 9:00am PT · 02:00 Sat AEST. Can't make it? The replay is up right after.
