Well, this week flew by! Yesterday was the Monetize Your Mission Mastermind and though it was a last-minute scramble with rather jumbled notes I think we pulled it off okay. It turned into a mini-Audit of several Substack publications. @Sandy E asked about the order of things to implement what was discussed, so I thought I'd share the answer here publicly because it's a good question. To begin with if you're just starting out with Substack go to the classroom and do the first three courses/steps Build Your Foundation, Setup Your Publication and then Create Your Profile Then I offer a Client Acquisition Audit to help you with applying these 3 steps. I will recommend you upgrade to VIP or simply purchase the Substack Setup Intensive at the end of the call. (This community is setup to get you started with Substack and the classroom is organized like this: Build →Publish→Grow ) During the audit, you will get a lot of value in terms of clarity around your offer and the next steps to take for Substack whether or not you chose to upgrade. Once you go through those 3 foundational pieces - you're ready to start adding content because you will have you categories, sections and tags mapped out as well as our client journey and your payment option turned ON. No sense creating content for visibility when that visibility doesn't lead anywhere right? Once you've added content - either created originally or sucked in through an rss feed you can start categorizing it and posting. If you have set up your 3-5 sections it's good to have at least 6 or so pieces or each one as it will complete the "grid" on your home page.

Okay, whose ready for the BIG announcement over on Substack? There is a new feature being rolled out - I don't have access to this one yet - but I know people who do. It's called "automations" and it will show up in your creator tools on the dashboard of your publication. This takes Substack all the way into the autoresponder category. I've been waiting for this to happen. What it allows you to do is create follow up sequences for your subscribers. To move people from free to paid to purchasing your offers. They already introduced an option to segment your subscribers, which you can find under the subscriber section on your dashboard. Which leads us to the perk page - on the perks page you can put up the offers for your paid subscribers - the thing is that not everything on that page needs to be completely part of the subscriber offer - you can offer discounts on some of those offers. So, the process is someone becomes a paid subscriber and then they get a discount on the purchase of the other items on your perks page - you can go over here and see what I did https://hartlifecoach.substack.com/perks the 3 tools & the intensive are now for annual subscribers and instead of simply getting everything with the annual subscription, they get a discount on these - so people subscribe for the discount - kind of like Costco. And with this new feature being rolled out you'll be able to set up a follow up series to help subscribers move through the buying journey with you. I think this is going to help a lot of content creators over there - I find the tendency is to firehose people with stuff they get for being a paid subscriber - when often less is more or allowing people to move at the pace they can handle without pressuring them to open everything at once. We even had a chat here about it yesterday - around names we have for our AI agents. There was one part of the conversation that had me seriously laughing out loud when @Eli Norris and @Ali Davidson who both have ai's named Sam questioned whether Sam was stepping out on Eli - who says AI has no sense of humor? There are so many ways to use AI beyond simply an expanded search engine and the more I explore the more I'm blown away. Katya from Oracle Connection really helped me take what I'd gleaned from Evelyn Weis' community to a whole new level and then @Bo McCoy and @Janay Trevillion expanded on that even further. One thing I know about myself, though, is ... I like puzzles and I can easily get pulled into doing things because they are interesting but not actually what I need to focus on to further my over all mission.

Please give me a minute... Gotta gather my brains back up - @Bo McCoy blew my mind yesterday in the Mastermind as he explained how to make an extension using Chatgpt and Claude. And the extension part was just the beginning! He also shared about dashboards and agents and then my mind was off to the races about possibilities. Yesterday you might have noticed in the email I sent you from Substack - about the perks page over there and upgrading, that, if you were logged into Substack, your first name appeared! This is a screen shot of the email to myself. Okay, so the way you make that happen is to use this %%first_name%% if they are not logged into Substack they will just see an extra little space like you hit the space bar too many times between words. This works in articles too! It doesn't work in the notes section though. 😢😭 🪻🐮🍂🔥🍂🪻 Moving on... I could create a form and use it to do a weekly announcement on Mondays. 2. I could create a classroom with them listed and put them on the calendar 3. I could create a thread each week that everyone could add to - this is the easiest 4. Already an option - you can simply create a post about what's coming up in the community I'll create a poll for this so you can let me know.
