After getting the engine bay prepped we were able to add some por15 added to the stock k member. Got the engine and transmission connected and installed. Slid the headers down in there. Added some black Cerakote brackets for alternator, power steering and AC, now it’s time for suspension rebuild, wiring and plumbing and all of the smaller fine details

Hello everyone. I have a 2022 Chevy Tahoe LS, 4WD w/ 10 speed automatic. It has an L84 5.3L V8 with the dreaded DFM system. Have about 68,000 miles on her, so far running well. My question is this, which LS V8 in non AFM or DFM form will swap into my Tahoe and be compatible with the trans and electronics ? Is there a GM crate engine that would work ? I’m an old school GM guy (262-400 ci small block, 396 and up big blocks), so my familiarity with the modern offerings is limited by comparison. Just trying to plan for lifter issues down the road. I have researched the full DFM delete kits to convert my existing motor, but would like to know if there are other options.

The wife got the engine bay cleaned up and scrubbed. Just need to remove the engine mounts. Free up the brake likes and get ready for some POR-15 on the k-member

Took the wife’s car out for some testing to find a small electrical issue but got that resolved quick. This is a dart block 441” engine with Frankenstein m311 heads. This car made 5 passes this time out and it went 6.311 @ 109.7, 6.318 @ 109.8, 6.315 @ 109.5, 6.309 @ 109.7, 6.311 @ 109.9 She even let me drive it to work that day!!
