Mail Call: SAUVAGE EXTRAIT
This one surprised me. Sauvage Extrait really doesn’t come across like another typical Sauvage flanker to me. It’s much drier, darker, woodier and more resinous, with the patchouli and oud giving it a completely different character from the familiar fresh Sauvage DNA. My first thought was actually Amouage. Not that it smells exactly like a particular Amouage fragrance, but it has that same type of dense, dry, woody, slightly smoky Middle Eastern niche feel. I can especially understand the comparisons people are making to the dry oud character of Amouage Royal Tobacco. This smells much more expensive and serious than I expected from the Sauvage name. Less blue designer fragrance and more like Dior decided to take Sauvage into Amouage territory. First impression: I like this quite a bit. It may actually be one of the most interesting Sauvage releases Dior has done because it doesn’t feel like they simply turned up the concentration. They changed the personality. Definitely a cooler-weather fragrance for me, and I’m looking forward to giving it some full wearings.

@Lon Chaneyfield I understand your point, but I would say the problem is more with the supplier and fulfillment process than dropshipping itself. Perfume dropshipping can work very well when you have reliable suppliers, proper branding, and a strong marketing strategy. the model is not the issue, it is how it is been executed.
SOTE - Smokey Cuba Tabac
Fell in love with this on first sniff. It is Dua's take in Alghabra's Cuban Tobacco, which I will in a short bit to do a side by side. This is very similar to Dior Tobacolor, which I did a full wearing of a few weeks ago.

@Henry Clay A side-by-side comparison should be really interesting, especially with the similarities to Tobacolor. It’s also interesting how niche interests can turn into online business opportunities. Fragrance is a great example, and dropshipping can be one way to explore e-commerce around products you genuinely enjoy.

Polo 67 Eau de Parfum Extreme Ralph Lauren
Good morning gentlemen. I picked this up yesterday. It’s very nice. It doesn’t quite live up to the hype that it received so I’m a bit disappointed with that but that’s on me nothing to do with the fragrance. If I had to describe it, I would say it’s similar to the EDT with a bit of Polo red in it. That’s the best way I can think of describing it. The leather isn’t too animalistic. It’s all quite well blended. I will update you on the longevity. Projection isn’t massive.

@Phil H That’s a very fair and measured take. Hype can set a pretty high bar, so it’s not unusual for something well-made to feel a bit underwhelming at first. Your comparison to the EDT with a touch of Polo Red makes sense, it suggests a familiar structure with a slightly warmer, spicier edge. The way you describe the leather as smooth and well-integrated rather than animalic also points to a more modern, wearable interpretation, which a lot of houses seem to be leaning toward now. Projection being moderate doesn’t surprise me either; many newer releases prioritize balance over outright performance. It’ll be interesting to see how it develops on your skin over a full wear, especially in terms of longevity and how that leather note evolves.
