Where did you actually land your very first AI client? Upwork vs Cold Outreach?
Hey everyone, quick question for those who’ve already gotten traction with their agency. I’m currently setting up my AI agency, Advaya AI (https://advayaai.in), where we focus on voice agents, automated booking, WhatsApp integrations, and review management for local businesses. Coming from an 8+ year IT automation background, building the solutions is the smooth part—it’s the initial client acquisition strategy I’m locking down now. For getting those first 1–3 paying clients, what worked best for you in the beginning? 1. Freelancing platforms (Upwork, Fiverr, etc.) — higher intent, but racing to the bottom on price? 2. Cold outreach (Email, LinkedIn, cold calls, DMing local owners) — harder to break the ice, but higher ticket potential? If cold outreach was your route, what approach or angle gave you the highest response rate? Would love to hear how you guys cracked your first deal!

Honestly, for your first few clients I’d skip Upwork and go straight to cold outreach. Your IT background is a big plus you can talk about fixing a real problem, not just “AI.” Start with one niche and a simple offer, like helping local businesses follow up with missed calls and new leads faster. That’s easier to sell than a broad automation service. Happy to share the exact outreach approach I’d use DM me.
Repost; Partner Opportunity: Lead Sourcer for Growth Operator Agency [Revenue Share]
Hey everyone🙂 I’m scaling a Growth Operator agency helping content creators build and monetize high-ticket digital communities through Whop's automated split payment system. I’m looking for 1 or 2 dedicated Social Media Scouts/Lead Researchers to help find target creators on Instagram & YouTube. What Your Role Looks Like (Keep It Simple & Fast) Your sole focus is finding promising creators and logging them in a tracking sheet. You capture the link, follower count, and a 1-sentence note—keeping the capture under 20 seconds per lead. You do NOT need to: ❌ Write outreach messages or pitch creators ❌ Investigate funnels or do deep business research ❌ Close deals or manage creator relationships I handle 100% of the outreach, strategy, sales closing, and back-end building. Ideal Creator Profile Platforms: Instagram & YouTube • Followers: ~20k - 100k (flexible for hyper-engaged niche accounts) Focus: Educational, practical, or problem-solving content (fitness, parenting, career, hobbies, productivity, etc.) Monetization: Active creators who have an audience gap and no full backend community/product yet. 💰 The Deal Structure Direct commission split via Whop on signed creators. Automated payouts handled directly at checkout - 100% transparent. Complete Step-by-Step SOP, Red Flag Checklist, and Criteria Sheet provided on day one. If you are active on Instagram or YouTube daily and want to partner up on deal flow: DM me "SCOUT" on Skool with the platform you spend the most time on. And if you have any other questions about how this will work you can ask me questions for the things that bother you in this whole deal. P.S: Please! If you are really serious about this partnership and you are willing to put in the work, you can DM me. Otherwise we can't work together. For these who didn't understand what I am exactly looking for, this time I attached a POS that you can look and decide if you are the ideal partner! Have in mind if you want to be partners I have a quota of the first time we try to work together. Here it is:

Solid setup Gabriela. Have you tried automating that creator scraping into a sheet with n8n yet, or do you prefer having scouts check their content manually first?

Welcome, Mostafa! Getting your first client can be tricky at the start. Are you already offering a specific AI service, or still figuring out what to focus on?

Hey Austin, welcome to the community! How’s your AI journey been so far?
haring this because someone asked me what consistent content actually looks like over time and I thought the numbers were worth showing.
550 million views in 365 days. 1.5M new subscribers. 3.2M watch hours. $9,537 in estimated revenue from the channel alone, not counting what the inbound leads generated on top of that. This is one client account running on the same system the whole time. No viral tricks. No paid promotion. Just content going out consistently while they focused on their actual work. The part that stands out to me most is the subscriber growth, 188% more than the previous year, because that's compounding audience that keeps growing even when nothing new is posted. Curious if anyone else here has seen a similar compounding effect when content runs consistently over a long period versus sporadic posting?
