@Maliha M what’s your biggest challenge right now with growing and monetising a local list?
List growth shenanigans
I'm trying to figure out all the different ways I can grow my list with subscribers, buyers, or potential buyers. One of the techniques is what I shared a few weeks ago... where I promoted a freebie-to-affiliate offer and got a bunch of subscribers, many of whom then turned into buyers. But what else? Let's do the battleship thingy John does from time to time. I have 10 ways to grow your email list; #10 is what I already shared above. There are 9 more methods in the list (that I can think of)... some better than others in terms of subscriber quality... but yeah... tell me how you'd grow your list. 1. List swaps/cross-promotions [ @Chris Dyson ] 2. Newsletter ads 3. Affiliates [ @John Bejakovic ] 4. Social media content (organic) 5. Social media ads [ @John Bejakovic ] 6. Blogs (SEO) [ @John Bejakovic ] 7. Groups and communities [ @Svetoslav Dimitrov ] 8. Pay-per-lead acquisition (in a high-quality newsletter) 9. Licensing [ @Chris Dyson ] 10. Freebie-to-affiliate offers 11. Bonus: Buyer swaps via bundle sales [ @Honey Syed ] 12. Bonus: Just buy someone else's list for $$$$$$$$$$$ [ @John Bejakovic ] 13. Bonus: Begging your friends and family or using MLM-style some 3-foot rule or something [ @John Bejakovic ] 14. Auto recommendations from Substack/Kit/Beehiiv etc. [ @Karla Fernandes ] Go!

@Maliha M sell a $10 offer and let the list owner keep it is pretty much licensing Giving the list owner $10 per sub is CPA marketing — if you know your numbers ie revenue per subscriber, LTV etc You can afford to probably pay MORE
[Marketing Battleship] 11 ways to pay
I am currently running an offer with experimental payment terms: "$97 today and $2/month for updates" This got me thinking... This year, I've made offers with very different payment terms. Just how many categories of payment terms are there? I had hoped to make a list of 10. I only got to 8. Maybe with your help, we can get to 10? Here's the deal: Let's play Marketing Battleship. Tell me a category of payment terms that you know of, have used yourself, or have had others use on you. If your suggestion on my list of 8, I will tell you so. If not, I will reveal another item from my list. Once all 8 of my ideas have been exposed, my flotilla is sunk and you win. Hopefully, before we get to that, we will get at least a couple more payment terms ideas i didn't have, and we all win. Your turn. Tell me a way to structure payments that you know of. Here's what we've got so far, along with the person who shot the torpedo: [UPDATE: We now have 11 ways, but if you have more, keep 'em coming] 1. Flat lump sum [@Rene Kerkdyk] 2. Punishment payment plan (break it up into payments that add up more than the 1-time payment, much like a traditional loan with interest) [@Rene Kerkdyk] 3. Zero-punishment payment plan (break up the payment into small monthly payments that add up to the same amount as the one-time payment) [@Maliha M] 4. Results pricing: flat lump sum now plus payment upon success [@Honey Syed and @Svetoslav Dimitrov] 5. Commission only [@Chris Dyson] 6. Flat lump sum plus monthly subscription for updates ("OmniDrip pricing") 7. Continuity [@Rene Kerkdyk] 8. Deferred payment, pay nothing for a while (also free trial) [@Justin Zack]

@John Bejakovic yep
I would love to sell my $3k/month offer more, but...
Yesterday, I asked House members what's the highest-ticket offer they have successfully sold to their list. A MAJORITY of the respondents said they have successfully sold offers of $1k+ to their lists, and almost a quarter said they have successfully sold offers of $5k or more. I'm thinking there's a bit of selection bias going on here... ... but still. The point is, it's possible to sell high-ticket to your email list, often using email only. So why don't we all do it all the time? I can tell you my own situation. I have that $3k/month DFY offer I wrote about yesterday, which I sold to one person back in May. That's made me $9k so far, and is likely to make me some more. I would LOVE to have a couple more people take me up on that offer. I tried putting it out to my list again (one whole time), and I didn't get any sales. My conclusion after that mighty effort: I don't have enough LEADS. Putting aside for the moment whether that's a legit conclusion or not... ... I'm curious what your situation is? When you think of the highest-ticket offer that you have successfully sold to your list, at whatever price point, then what's the reason you're not selling MORE of it, right NOW?

I’d be hard pressed to believe a few thousand people are tapped out on a $3k DFY offer after one swing But… maybe. A lot of your list probably wants to learn copy, not hire someone to do it. And I don’t know who the offer is PERFECT for or how many of those people are actually on the list. So yeah, it could be a lead quality problem… Hard to diagnose with little data.

@John Bejakovic Offer multiplier might help
The highest-ticket offer I have sold by email to date
I've sold a bunch of books, courses, live trainings, some coaching, and a bit of client work solely via email, solely to my email list. To date, the highest-ticket thing I have sold in this way has been a $3k/month DFY offer back in May, which has so far brought in $9k and which seems to be poised to keep going for at least a month or two more. I'm curious about you. What's the highest-ticket offer you have sold successfully to your email list?
