Hood
Hey guys, just wanted to post some pics of my hood that Aaron helped me with. He made a video for me, and just went out way to really work through the problem I had. I had a chip at first, and got some bad primer. It's been a process getting this done being my cars almost finished. Just shows you the kind of guy Aaron is. Really appreciate you Aaron for help. I've been really motivated watching your videos and all you share. Now wanna see some of your guys projects.

Bought this truck for my son and painted it yesterday , we have been working on it for about 3 months now. The information I’ve gotten from the course has really helped give me a better understanding painting. Thanks you the tips and advise.

Dura-Gold Sandpaper any good?
I expect it's a mid-grade product, but I figured that I would ask the collective. Dura-Gold is everywhere, so it's easy to get. But is it any good? Better than Harbor Freight, not as good as 3M? Fine for a daily driver, not worth the time/money for a nice project? Any experience?

The purple is ok,, but it's like sumight, and hi=teck. They all don't last very long unless you use 3m, or kovax. I mean I use the cheap stuff to get it close then use the more expensive stuff to finish out with. It's works for me. The cheap stuff your just changing out a lot. Hope thy is helps. Goodluck

Black Widow HTE vs Porphis PRD-817
I watched Aaron's review of the Porphis PRD-817 spray gun recently, and after he got it dialed in, he seemed to like it for clearcoat. I have pretty much zero experience painting. I do have the Black Widow HTE, but I saw some guys on YouTube talking about it laying down material more slowly. My current project is a 1986 F150, and I will be spraying the entire truck and that is a lot of surface area. Since I have a bunch of projects in my future that will need painting, I was wondering would it be worth it to get the PRD-817 to use as a dedicated clear gun? Also, I wonder where Aaron would put it in his rankings of guns he's used. I know he really like the Black Widow HTE. Should I just stick with that? Thoughts, anyone?

No experience withe porphis gun, but the black widow will do it all. It's a really great gun to start out with. In the beginning I bought all the expensive guns, and didn't need them. really it's just time with the gun, and the process like Aaron says. You don't need all these guns right now just get out there and paint some shit like the gunman always says. Just my opinion. Good luck man.

Please help
Would love some input on some paint/clear issues. I did not have room for a compressor in the shop so I decided to buy the inokraft air gun. It's a new product that requires no compressor. I'm using shopline paint and sprayed in a shop well above 100 degrees. The paint is pretty heavily orange peeled so I decided to wet sand and buff it. The clear is extremely hazy and cloudy. Could anyone provide input for help. This is my first paint job ever. My patch panels and sanding look good and so does the color but the orange peeled clear ruins the paintjob.

1500, 2000, 3000 wet sand. I hand sand with a block with the 1500 then with a da. If you put enough clear on like 3 coats you'll have more than enough to make it look really nice. Good luck
